Cats are smart that way.
BTT
All are rescue kittens found on our front patio. Mitzi, in 2002, at about three weeks, still unweaned and abandoned, named "Itzi-Bitzi Mitzi". She is now the Grand Duchess of the household.
Gracie, in 2005, at about eight weeks, weaned and bounced out of the darkness into my wife's arms when called, named as in "There but for the Grace of God ..."
Rhiannon, in 2009, at about six weeks, almost weaned and the friendliest kitten out of a litter of three, named Rhiannon because she is all gray and one Celtic definition of the name is "Gray river mist" and the other is "Great Queen".
Sarah-Michael at the same time, in 2009, and age as Rhiannon but from a different two-kitten litter and had a severe eye infection when we took her in. Her mother was a feral we called "Angel" and, at the time that I first started handling the kittens I thought they were both male, so I called them "Michael" and "Gabriel". Gabriel disappeared and, as Michael got older, I found out that he was a she. So, I renamed her Sarah-Michael ("Sarah" short for Seraphim).
Great pic.
What a story. Cute.
The best cat I ever had was a young solid black female cat I found at the animal shelter and whom I named ‘Isis’.
I remember I passed her cage, and she reached way out to me with her paw. It was love at first sight on both our parts.
When I was sick, she’d lay in bed with me- only getting up to use her litter box.
I remember one cold rainey night she had been outside quite a while and I was frantic with worry. ( I could not keep her inside for she would cry and cry to go out and even escape to hunt)
At last I opened the door to look for her again and there she was in the shadows. I picked her up and hugged her.
I immediately felt something cold and wet against my cheek.
To my horror it was a rat that she had caught and brought to her master as a gift!
I had Isis with me about 10 years..and I cried for a week when she passed over the rainbow bride.
.
That poor pug! Doesn’t look happy... They don’t like to be dressed up - at least ours doesn’t. Didn’t stop my daughter.
Is BTT a dog name?
We had a dog named Cody B. Underfoot and three generations of cats named Pete, Repete, and Three Pete. We also had a calf named Henry David TheRogue.
Some people can't spell marshmallow. Imagine the humiliation of this poor cat going through life with a misspelled name. Poor kitteh!
Kittehs taek spelingz veri seriesly.
You mean kitty? ;o)
[like mine do]
The animal looked a bit like a mongrel boarder collie...Wayne called him "Dog"!!
I had a cat named isis for 18 years. She was a silver egyptian mau.
NOW you tell me!
My pooch’s name is Reagan
wirehaired poining griff
It's a cute site where people speak "Cattish" and have fun making "LOL Cats." The proper term for kitty there is "kitteh."
Thank you for keeping an eye on my spelling though. I like learning from my mistakes and take correction well. Usually. See:
I gave our first dog the nickname “stir-fry” — I’m not exactly a dog person.
I very nearly named my first cat “Dog.” Long story.
Oh, I was just playing. This is a fun thread. While I disagree with a previous poster about long dog names, I think they are cute. Noone calls their dog by their full names. There is usually a short two syllable name that goes along with the long one.
My basset hounds name is Donkey(from Shrek). From her rear she looks like a donkey. And I just like saying Donkey.. Sort of like kitteh..
