It looks like a narrow escape for one of mankind's most ancient symbols. A bolt of lightning illuminates the sky around the 2,500-year-old Parthenon temple, high on the Acropolis during a heavy rainfall in Athens early this morning. Fortunately, the temple is believed to have escaped any damage ( more at link)

What’s that line from ‘Aliens’? “What do we do now, man? Start a fire? Sing some songs?”

Must be a sign that socialism does not amuse Athena.

I’ve been to a fair number of interesting places in the world...the Parthenon was one of them. I’m not a big George Noory guy, but to me it was palpably ridden with spirits. The only other place where I felt like so many spirits were flying around was the Gettysburg battlefield.

Also the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas. The closest I have come to that was at Ise Jingu Shrine in Japan.

Big Deal. Lightning strikes all the time. It rains and storms quite a bit too. Other than it being a pretty picture, why is everyone fascinated with this? It’s just photography. A lucky snap if it wasn’t time elapsed. I am sure there are equally spectacular lightning shows on Google Images.

There are two principles of reality at work in the world, one is causal and the other is synchronistic. But don’t feel left out.It takes time. What you see is what you get.

Mrs. O. & I went to the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose. I'll not go into detail about why the house is the way it is, but there was one room where we both felt a huge amount of.....other things there with us. And they weren't friendly. We're both Christians, and her beeber is more sensitive than mine. The tour guide said that the room where we were was a seance room. Duh.
We've been to Indian ruins and other places where we've felt like something hated us and wanted us gone. When we prayed about it, that feeling left.

That happened to us too. Only it was a local PTA meeting where they brought in a half a dozen teachers union thugs to speak to us parents.....
