I've given my opus a few times but always came a crawlin' back. I figure if they go by "join date" we old timers will go first ...
So any active Freepers out there have joined dates more ancient than mine?
I guess the adage, "time heals all heels" has an element of truth in it.Thank you, Jane Ace! (Whose clever husband, Goodman Ace, actually wrote for her to say, "Time wounds all heels," and sent that malaprop among many---including "Congress is back in season"---into the vernacular.)
Car wrecks are funny as long as you're not in them.Obviously, you've never been in the traffic jams they cause in southern California.
Bad enough: An accident on your side of the freeway tying up traffic for two hours and three miles.
Worse: The same accident tying up traffic on the other side of the freeway for three hours and four miles.
That's the way it was in SoCal when I lived there . . .
I don't remember Easy Aces though I can recall most old time radio. Maybe it was because we kids had to listen to the programs mom and dad wanted to hear as we all sat in the front room every night doing whatever we were doing but still listening to every word on the old Philco radio....or was it a Crosley?

I don't remember Easy Aces though I can recall most old time radio. Here are all the surviving Easy Aces episodes, as also the surviving installments of a later updated version the couple tried in 1948, mr. ace and JANE (the spelling was Goodman Ace's idea) . . .
You shouldn't judge a book by its lover
I wasn't under the impersonation you meant me
I'll be ready in a jitney
You could have knocked me over with a fender! (to which her wry husband might reply, sotto voce, "Hmmmm, there's an idea . . . ")
I felt bad for those people in those old testament houses
Now, there's no use crying over spoiled milk
I'm completely uninhabited
After all, I am his awfully-wedded wife
I've always had the smell of goose grease in my blood. I've always wanted to see my name up in tights
He blew up higher than a hall
I look like the wrath of grapes
He has me sitting on pins and cushions waiting
After all, I am a member of the weeper sex
I don't smoke or drink, I'm a totalitarian
I always say a wife has to take the bitter with the better
The way things are these days, a girl's gotta play hard to take.
Goodman and Jane Ace, 1935 . . .
I think The Duke is still here - he started the 'original' FLA FReepers group. Dunno what happenned to Warren.
We're all still sick and twisted ......................... FRegards
(PS: Gad, I gotta fix my FReepage ... )
You betcha I’m still here ... and going stronger than ever!
Thanks for the witticisms.....always welcome in this vale of political tears.

I actually thought I registered earlier than that. But it is what it is. I was a lurker for at least a year before registering.
Hmmm, he reminds me of the late humorist, Robert Benchley, and she has Mamie Eisenhower bangs!I'm given to understand Ace and Benchley were friends and mutual admirers; Benchley turned up on quite a few vintage radio comedies including a classic Texaco Star Theater with Fred Allen. (Oh, it should have been to mourn when the Texaco Star Theater title ended up attached to Milton Berle, who couldn't even buy tickets for Fred Allen's league.)
But if Jane Ace had Mamie Eisenhower's bangs, all I can say is I hadn't realised the Eisenhowers were Easy Aces fans . . . ;)
Here's another vintage Benchley guest turn on the Allen show . . .
p.s. Extra credit if you can name the old-time radio show from which I borrowed my tagline. (It’s also the way I close my own radio show in Las Vegas, which is going on hiatus until September . . . )

Hey there newbie!
This has got me stumped.....and I thought I was an "expert" on old time radio. Pray tell before I have my cup of hot Ovaltine and hit the hay.I thought you, of all people, would have guessed it!
Vic & Sade, of course! ;)
It used to be that you’d click on your own login name and then hit “in forum” and look at the URL, it would have your FR#. That has obviously changed.
I dunno how to do it now.
Thanks deport!
Wish I could get back to my first posts, tho.
If you posted on your sign up date you may look around the following White Water threads for that day. It may take you some time but you may get lucky. Most all post were made on the WW files regardless of the the topic.

Would this have anything to do with registering for Obamas Death Panel?
ROFL!
No it was a suggestion made earlier on this thread. The thought being that the "old time" Freepers get a badge of honor next to their names to id them for us newbies. I just picked it up and ran with it.
Chickensoup is sooooo old that she knows what came first, chicken or egg. Yes, I would be up for the honor, being a 98er.
