Thank you so much, yorkie! Its nice to be needed...LOLOL! If I were a rich lady, the accountant would take care of all my finances, the maid would clean the house daily, the gardener would manicure the lawn so perfectly it would make your head spin.....

And I would play, swim, shop, go to lunch, or just do NOTHING! Is this a dream or nightmare? Hey, if you’re going to dream, dream BIG!!

Dorothy’s Opinion

Mamma has bought a calendar,
And every single page
Has pictures on it of little girls
’Most just about my age.

And when she bought it yesterday,
Down at the big bazaar,
She said, “What lovely little girls,
How true to life they are.”

But I don’t think they’re true to life,
And I’ll just tell you why;
They never have a rumpled frock
Or ribbon bow awry.

And though they play with cats and dogs,
And rabbits and white mice,
And sail their boats and fly their kites,
They always look so nice.

And I am sure no little girl
That ever I have seen,
Could play with dogs or sail a boat
And keep her frock so clean.

The Soldier’s Code

1) I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

2) I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender my men while they still have the means to resist.

3) If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

4) If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me, and will back them up in every way.

5) When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am bound to give only name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies, or harmful to their cause.

6) I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.

Grace. Amazing Grace, indeed.

It is the offered gift of God. IF we come to God with a repentant, true and sincere heart surrendering our self to HIM. Accepting the gift of salvation, deliverance, atonement, from our Redeemer Jesus Christ. He died on the CROSS for our sins ... not His, and paid the price with His blood.

We owe a debt we can not repay; but we can receive Him as our Lord and Savior to hope, peace and eternal life, and to be ever transformed into the image of Christ Jesus, shining light into a dark world. Keeping our eyes upon Jesus. It is a choice we are called to make.

I lay now in my silent rest
my final duty done at last
I passed the mortal test
and now a part of the past

My brothers and I heard the call
we answered proud so to do
We did the job, standing tall
wondering just where were you

Our flag waves over us
and we know we did it right
Freedom is not just some fuss
rather it costs a bloody fight

Lovely graphic, ladies, and I love that sweet poem which tells the truth. Thank ya’ll. I am taking a quick break from my books! I had to go pay my homeowner’s and pick up some more of those delicious tomatoes. In the summer, I can’t have a sandwich without tomato on it. Love these summer tomatoes. Now, back to my books!
