Hi Polly, In our part of the country with the bitter winters, we close them about the end of September until Spring. I usually get my opened in April or May. We just drain the water down below the skimmer, blow the water out of the pipes and put a cover on top. Its super-chlorinated, etc. for winter. We call it putting the baby to bed. And usually when we open it, the water is clear as can be. We run the needed water in and put in all the chemicals, etc. and its ready again.
Out in lovely California pools remain open year around I’m sure.
We really had a time on the thread last night as our posts wouldn’t show up....thats why all those posts are so confusing. They all showed up at the same time....duh? I had gone to bed by then.
Shine the light of Christ daily as we grow (mature) into “the image of Christ.

Matthew 5:13-16 (New International Version)
Salt and Light
13”You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
14”You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

Ah ha!!! Winterizing a pool ! Thanks for the explanation.
Most pools stay year round here.
Yes, the problems last night were interesting!
Have a great day....
Ahhhhhhhhhh Morning Yorkie!!! Love ladybugs!!!
Thank you for your message, geologist. We are the light. It reminded me of this song from long, long ago: (The Kingston Trio - This Little Light of Mine - I’m Gonna Let It Shine (almost a half million views!)

Thank you for our lovely Daily Bread message this morning, Rus!! Have a great day!
I love that....its soooo cute!
I see all my posts showed up at one time and made me look sorta insane....LOL! Hope everyone knows what happened.
(Insane: Doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result.) LOL!
When I first moved here almost 20 years ago
Red Rock Crossing was open to the public.
I would go down to the water's edge,
And sit there, listen to the birds
And the sound of the water bubbling over the rocks.
Now, it is $5 just to get in to the park, and everything is concreted over.
I guess the Government thought they could improve on what God gave us.
Another example of how when the government gets in control or power they make a real mess of everything. This is an aside but a few days ago there was a thread here on Free republic about the VA program being hopelessly broke and not fixable.
There are over a million requests behind for needed approvals for major surgeries, and medical treatments for our veterans.
Personally my contact has been limited at best, but it appears they (the employees) do no seem to care much about getting the job done. They can not be fired, they have all benefits and privileges as civil servants and they are extremely inefficient. No matter how many new employees they hire/add. I know there are exceptions (hopefully).
That is absolutely gorgeous, yorkie! There’s so many things I would love to see in this world....it sometimes haunts me!
I posted my Rush information and I won’t be back for a while. I have a lot to do today...first is to water the flowers and veggies! Gotta get dressed first...LOL! I sat the vacuum cleaner out Thursday and it hasn’t done one thing yet!! You mean I have to plug that thing in and push it back and forth....well, dang!
Isn’t it wonderful that all the crazy posts of mine flew in at once. I tried to explain to Lady Jag!
See ya’ll later with a Caturday/Dogurday....
LOL! I came up from the bottom of the page, and saw the pool, and just KNEW you were posting a picture of YOUR house~!
Here is a link that is SO much fun that I wanted to share it with everyone.
Build your own tile: You can pick your shapes, color them, outline them, change tile color, enlarge or shrink shapes, rotate them (And if you want to get rid of a shape - click it and then delete it) and then print or email the finished tile to friends!
