June is usually the hottest month, only the other summer months are almost as hot often 100 degrees.

We have had an exceptionally cool spring and until the last few days the mornings were cool. We have an elevation of about 3000 feet and near desert conditions with low humidity,: it generally cools off every evening during the night about 30 degrees, warming quickly when the sun is shining. we have had many cloudy mornings this year. Little rain except for once when it rained 5-6 inches in a couple of hours.

In West Texas they say ‘If you don't like the weather wait a few minutes,’ it will change. Maybe 40-50 mile winds. etc. There are no trees outside of towns or ranches. Many in town.

It was a hard land for the first settlers. Ranches for cows mostly. Much of it has no water. All wells. It is difficult to live off the land by growing cotton with our irrigation, impossible in some areas. etc. The oil business is the reason for most of the development.

"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.

Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Rather than being grieved and burdened by sin ... we come to Jesus with singing and joy in our heart for the salvation of our soul. The wonder of it all. We have a God who loves us; and desires us to praise and worship Him. Be obedient to His commandments ... they are not greivous. Love the LORD God with all our heart, mind, strength, soul, and love our neighbor as our self.

Shine the light of Christ in the earth and tell our brethren to the ends of the earth.

Wickedness abides all around us. Do not be deceived.

Glory to God in the Highest Peace on earth to men of good will.

God bless America, Bless our children, bless the lost, bless the seekers of the one true God, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, in Jesus name, amen.

Just filled your cup, and left a small plate of chocolate dipped graham crackers for snacking.

Well, it will be a challenge, but I’m up for it.
(you can hire me a couple of those on again/off again census workers for kitchen help if the crowd gets over twenty five diners)

Yea, oh yes!! Reminds me of the song " The Wonder of it All" sung by George Beverly Shea!!

I lived in W.TX for several years. When I had to leave, it nearly killed me. I cried for three years - everytime I thought about all my friends that I missed so much!

You see - it wasn’t the land or the weather or the BIG SKY - it was the people! (And, I still miss them, years later.)

“OH! I think I SEE him! He’s right over there - floating around in the pool!!!”

YEP! I have appointed the young strapping fellow now pouring coffee for you as your personal attendant today, just tell him what you want. Me, I’m gonna float around for a while and enjoy the cool pool!

I became side-tracked again today!

Yes, thats the youngest granddaughter in my pool! The main reason I open the pool is for the granddaughters. Now, I have had some wonderful times there, but I don’t go in as much as I used to. We built in 1980 and had great times when we were a bit younger! We opened and closed it ourselves but its different now, being alone! (If you haven’t had a pool, they cost a fortune to keep up and to me it became a hole in the ground that I poured money into.)

You would have to have one for 30 years to know what I mean!

I do intend to go in this year as it is easy exercise and with my hip, it may be good for it, I sure hope!

Thank you, Johnn. It is nice but very much to keep up. As I told Polly I only open it now for my granddaughters. We enjoyed it for years and had some of our best times there with friends and family. But things change as we get older! Now, its a lot of trouble to open and close and expensive to keep up! Hubby and I used to do the opening and closing but now its hired done as I’m not able to do it.
Nor do I want to do it.

I plan to swim a little this summer to see if it will help my hip and back. Its good exercise (when you feel like it...LOL)

Too bad we all live so far apart, isn’t it? Someone cooking dinner sounds fine to me!!

As I told Polly, my day didn’t go as I planned today so I am late in everything. I know you wouldn’t believe that I just at breakfast/lunch here. Ya know, stuff happens!!
