"17 more states planning Ariz. 'illegal' crackdown
But ICE chief says feds might not 'process' illegals arrested by state

In what is developing into a standoff between states and the federal government that could be bigger than gun control or even health care, 17 states have launched versions of Arizona's immigration law, even as federal officials say they may not bother to process illegal aliens caught by the states.

William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, which has been trying to get officials to address the open southern border for years, warned the consequences could be dire.

"They've told the American public to go eat cake," he said.

His organization is assembling the list of state efforts to emulate the Arizona law, which makes it illegal under state as well as federal law to be in the state without documentation.

Seventeen states are now filing versions of Arizona's SB 1070, which is designed to help local police enforce America's existing immigration laws," ALIPAC said in a report today.

The report said numerous national and local polls indicate 60 to 81 percent of Americans support local police enforcing immigration laws.

Gheen said the states where some form of immigration crackdown is under development include Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas and Utah."

“What will the regime say if the states simply make camps for them, lock the doors and throw the keys away?”

We’ll find out. When AZ got wind of what the ICE chief said bout not processing their illegals, AZ said fine...we’ll just throw their azzes in jail until you do! I see more tent cities and pink undies in AZ’s future ;)

The governors of each of these states should put ICE on notice that each and every time the Feds refuse to process an illegal, they will publicize the names, photographs, job titles, office addresses, and telephone numbers of the official making the decision and the next three levels up in the chain of command.

In the case of Arizona, I guess Fox News would be the only media that would actually publicize this...the AZ Repugnant and TV stations are biased as hell towards the "poor persecuted immingrants".

I wonder if Sarah would carry this on her Facebook messages?

We conservatives in Washington state have come to expect that “our” state government will march in lockstep with Øbozo, but hopefully we will break with them and establish some common-sense legislation like Arizona did before we are overrun.

If their actions are solely governed by how many votes they can garner, then they should suck up to the 80% of voters who support Arizona and enforcement of immigration laws.

They seem to believe that pandering to those who empathize with illegal aliens will add to their base whose votes they can already count upon. Unfortunately, elections rarely revolve around a single issue, and at this time illegal immigration doesn’t seem to be a top priority to voters.

If more states do follow through and those states subsequently see a reduction in crime and unemployment, this issue could quickly become a priority down the road.

Camps? Screw that, waste of tax money. Put parachutes on them, and air drop them over Chihuahua. If they don't know how to pull the rip cord - tough rocks.

What happened to free enterprise? Give them a chance to buy parachutes.

The advantage Alaska has is that most south-of-the-border people don't like our climate. I think we should show solidarity anyway and pass a similar law.

I always thought you had boat people from Kamchatchka.

Thanks for noticing. It’s not that difficult to understand the problem or the time-line.
