I just switched from Republican to Democrat (Viking Kitties secretly switched his meds)

I just switched from pro life to pro choice because I am a liberal who likes watching babies die and from pro gun to anti gun because I don't give a crap about my property or the safety of my family. I've always supported amnesty for illegal aliens. Because I profit off helping them steal identities..

"Well then, you just need to grow more kudzu!"

I think someone is trying to nettle me.

In the bad old days, they called late spring “The Starving Time,” because you’d eaten everything harvested in the fall and it was too early for summer crops. Think how hungry you’d have to be to pick stinging nettles and say, “Okay, y’all! We *can* eat this stuff!”

"I’m sure it has important vitamins and minerals that could keep people “on the verge” from starving to death."

A lot of items were discovered to be more or less edible during the Great Depression, excuse me, the previous Depression.

Soon enough, just as we now refer to World Wars I and II, we will be able to refer to Great Depression I and Great Depression II.

You can eat anything, if you cook it to death and then run it through the blender.

Not spinach. Raw in salad, or in spanakopita, or (to contradict myself) saag paneer only.

There's a Scottish Gaelic term for this exact time, though I do not remember it accurately enough. "[Something] of the Spring"; hard times.

Or from not-quite-right to not-quite-human.

Some of the upper Midwest Indian tribes - Hurons, Mandans, and so on - called it “The Dying Moon.”

Sounds Italian. I usually don’t do Italian well. Like basmati rice: I got an overload of it at one period and just don’t care for more (really sad for one who loves Persian food). Even with saffron.

Just noodles, made with spinach so they’re green.

Hard to eat any Middle Eastern food if you can’t handle rice!

Not really. Sabzi-"salads" are wonderful, for example. And most everything else; I just can't eat very much of the rice.

I like Pat. Just not enough, so far, to write a poem for him.

Pasta and spinach -- two negatives. (My aversion to pasta is a second to that of basmati rice.)

Pat is a difficult subject. Maybe Tom will immortalize him in verse. Lots of things rhyme with “Pat.”

Good night all (I think). I’m tired and have still not quite recuperated from all last month’s travel.
