I just switched from pro life to pro choice because I am a liberal who likes watching babies die and from pro gun to anti gun because I don't give a crap about my property or the safety of my family. I've always supported amnesty for illegal aliens. Because I profit off helping them steal identities..
Agreed in general, but be cautious in your definition of "happy."
Anyway. Good night all.
The Glass Half FullEach of us is a vessel,
Upwelling with life and with joy.
In childhood you see this bubblingness,
So delightful in each girl and boy.
Somewhere someone noticed,
Philosopher type, I would guess,
That some of us see a glass half full,
And some of us see it as less.
We've noticed that life can be short, sometimes,
We're hurt if it happens to be,
But it's only the vessel that comes up short,
The life is unending, you see.
We slake our thirst from a fountain,
That flows for all of our days,
And none of us ever is half filled up,
Our cup runneth over always.

When I was Anoreth’s age, I was planning to become IRS Commissioner and have an apartment in the Watergate and several cats. I’ve got the cats!
Speaking of lawyers, the paralegal isn’t responding to my emails about the accident settlement. After I get the people off to swim practice, I’ll phone her. It’s raining a little but I haven’t heard thunder.
I had a new tagline planned, but I forgot it.
I've gotten a trifle bored with the sing-songy rhythm of too metric a poem, but that doesn't excuse laziness. Your criticism is accurate.
I think Singapore is about eleven hours ahead of us. You can ask Anoreth how tomorrow is shaping up.
12 hours ahead, same as Borneo. I hope it’s a nice evening there. She hasn’t done anything except stand watch and visit the “Terror Club,” which is just the sort of place she ought to go, poetically.
Two more weeks of swimming every day. Bill will go to the All-Star meet, even if the others don’t, because he’s our only swimmer in his age group. The coach is slighly interested in him for the college team he coaches, because Bill has worked really hard and improved the most. He just has to stop sleeping and get schoolwork done.
I need to clean something, and then call the lawyer’s office. It’s hard to phone people, because when I have free time (no screaming byos) it’s either too early or too late!
Seaman Anoreth update:

I am planning to go the beach there [Hawaii], or in Guam if we stop for a couple days again. You can’t go to beach in any of these countries ... the locals pump sewage into the water. Plus, the beaches have more pickpockets than anywhere else.
Underway again, although we’re supposed to go back to Singapore. We were actually supposed to have been in Malaysia for the weekend, but apparently the Navy decided that we didn’t have enough money. Boring, mostly. We’re supposed to do drills tomorrow [Thursday] all day. I’m not really looking forward to it. It’s too hot to wear firefighting gear and run around the ship unless we really have to.
Bob's remark about the ascetic life applies to engineering too. To be successful you need to put a LOT of time into your education. And endure a bit of social isolation because, unlike law students, engineering students don't enjoy much social status.
I understand. I'm reading the byos a book about the Civil War, and it's got quite a bit of poetry in it. It's all in very basic meters and rhymes, nothing even as original as a sonnet. And too sentimental even for me. The book was published in 1902 or thereabouts.
By extension, those who seek only social status end up as, *shudder*, politicians.
Well, there you go!
By the time DP started engineering school, we were married and had a baby, so he didn’t have much college social life.
That’s what I need ~ a attitude!
The I discovered I was running the laptop on battery -- I had unplugged it last night because the charger has a really bright LED and I wanted to sleep in. Though that didn't happen. Oh well; it has a good battery and it's charging now.
Electronics is so complicated! Your post reminded me to plug in my cell phone. I found a text from DP that must have arrived while I was upstairs; I assume Sally texted him first, while I was outside on the phone with the lawyer, who called me while I was thinking about calling him.
He’s going to file the reimbursement claim tomorrow or Friday. I told him to emphasize the nuisance value of the accident and injury, given my family situation!
The charge on my cellphone is down a bit, but I’m going to let it go because charging too much is bad for the battery. It should make it through the day for my use, then I can charge it tonight.
Time to get ready for the day and head out. Later.
As long as I don’t get into the real technicality of electronics, it seems I can find my way through almost anything. It’s when I try to troubleshoot that the problems arise. The brain just does NOT want to work that way.
I’ve outsourced all that. “Tom, show me how to text-message! Bill, turn on the Jerry Doyle Show for me! Somebody fix that beeping already!”
Lucky for you, you have a never-ending supply of outsourcerers. ;o]
