I just switched from Republican to Democrat (Viking Kitties secretly switched his meds)

I just switched from pro life to pro choice because I am a liberal who likes watching babies die and from pro gun to anti gun because I don't give a crap about my property or the safety of my family. I've always supported amnesty for illegal aliens. Because I profit off helping them steal identities..

I have some oak trim to install. I’ll be back later... ;-)

I saw license plate on a car the read “END OIL”, and yes it was not an electric car.

A lawn half trimmed, electricity in one of two places, and 2 X children out looking for their other halves.

Sound like you’re half way there. ;-)

A friend told me to take all of the herbs out of my raised beds as they would take over, just as the oregano that I planted 6-8 years ago has done in my flower garden.

I wonder if it seems less ghetto because they had to rebuild so much after the Tsunami?

Thanks for the updates.

Fair winds Anoreth!

"Mid-month ping!
Everybody look alive!!"

I spoke to Pippin today. She's alive.

As for me, I've been telling folks that I like the hot weather. It allows me to drink as much water as I want to, and I don't have to go to the bathroom as often.

My herbs fight it out. A couple of years ago I had a lot of dill, but then there wasn’t any last year, and only a few sprigs this year. Oregano is very healthy this year, but rosemary is cautious. Thyme has colonized a planter and the corn patch.

Interesting...

For now I’ll keep the dill and cilantro out of the raised beds, but will plant them in different parts of the natural garden.
I have the mint in pots near both doors to deter the ants, but don’t dare plant them in the ground.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Seeing that the thread crossed the thousand-post mark mid-month, I am guessing it's a sure bet we aren't reaching post #65534 and the End of the Internet by month's end.

Right?

So what kind of trim do you put on oaks anyways? Chrome?

Happy to hear that -- and hoping she's more than that! Missed her, the Last Dinner in Timbuktu.

As for me, I've been telling folks that I like the hot weather.

Trying to remember if I left my jacket at work, and whether I should close the windows before the house falls below 58F and the heat comes on.

I really love Seattle.

And am dreading Albuquerque next week. I've got to go find those short-sleeve shirts...

You’d better find some sun-screen as well, if you’re going to wear short-sleeved shirts.

"And am dreading Albuquerque next week. I've got to go find those short-sleeve shirts..."

Somewhere near Albuquerque, near the middle of the summer, I stepped out of an air-conditioned motorhome, and I could feel my feet sinking into the asphalt.

You kidding? I'm spending my days inside hotel meeting rooms -- where the sun don't shine.

And the A/C too often doesn't work very well.

No warning signs around the tar pits?

"No warning signs around the tar pits?"

You're thinking of L.A.

The asphalt parking lot felt like a shag rug.

One hot-climate city is much like another.

And while it may have felt like a shag rug, I'll bet there were those in L.A. who would have said the same. At first. Assuming they had shag rugs back then. (And aren't shag rugs, like, forever?)

The La Brea Tar pits were most popular about ten thousand years ago.

That's when it was the "in" place to be.
