Country music is about to take part in the biggest coming out party ever.
Singer Chely Wright will be sticking her boot into the traditionally conservative community by announcing she is a lesbian in People Magazine next week, TMZ reports.

Why do these people always get “set to announce”? Who gives a sh&% about her carpet munching BS? I’m sick of it! These people all want to make statements like “it’s hard hiding in the shadows of sexuality” and “I feel so relieved to be able to let the world know” crap. And all while “fighting back tears of joy”.
Who is this?
I’m relieved because now I don’t have to get involved.
I love her music. She is very talented and beautiful. I’m disappointed that she is a lesbian (if in fact she is). But that won’t stop me from listening to her. However if she becomes a loud, outspoken advocate of gay rights then I will be forced to cease and desist.
Same here.
It says something that the first time people heard of her was upon her pre-announcement announcement that she is lesbian.
It’s certain the “need to know” meter won’t be moving above zero, and it’s just as unlikely the “want to know” meter will budge.
Most people with good sense don’t need to advertise who they sleep with nor do they brag about being an online millionaire. LOL
“Coming out” seems to be the new tactic to try to revive a faded career for over the hill celebs.
I’ve never heard of her either. They always have a look about them though. You can tell.
Yeah, I’m a little nervous I’m not sure if I shoulda put it in writing
It might have been a little reckless, a little desperate
But I think I did the right thing
I couldn’t go on living keep it hidden
So I’m telling you everything
It’s my confession I hope you get the message
There’s a
Single white female
Looking for that special lover
I’m a country music fan - hardly remember her. I think she has a couple of #1 songs from a decade ago, but I can’t remember the titles. She’s hoping to follow the career path of k.d. lang, I guess....?

Well I was never a fan of hers, but I agree with your sentiment... so I hate to break it to you but you should read this...

Shelby Lynne did the same thing. What happened to her career?
She seems to think that people are giving her the finger because of her bumper sticker.
She looks like one of a long line of plastic women that inhabit the entertainment business.
I always suspected Shelby Lynne of being a lesbian. She, like a handful of other "country" artists, is critically acclaimed by the NY music/literary scene - much like Lyle Lovett, who also has an ambiguous sexual orientation.
