Happy Mothers Day EVERY ONE. My oldest called and sent a card, my youngest made a flying visit of 30 mins to bring me flowers...they are still cleaning up from the flood and he had to get back to helping his friend get her car running which had been in the flood.

Millington looks like a war zone. New thread up on it. Feds just showed up 10 days later.

A Little Piece Of Heaven

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? —1 Corinthians 3:16

A couple of weeks ago my wife met a woman who needed a ride. She sensed that this could be from God, so she agreed to take her to her destination. During the ride, the woman revealed to my wife that she was a believer but she struggled with drug addiction. My wife listened to and talked with this hurting woman. As she gave her hope for a better tomorrow, I believe that the woman experienced in some small way a little piece of heaven on earth.

When God instructed Moses to build the tabernacle according to His specifications, it was so that God’s people would sense His presence. I like to think of it as a little piece of heaven on earth. The temple was a physical example of God’s presence on earth also (1 Kings 5–8). The purpose of these holy places was for God to dwell among His people. This was God’s plan when Jesus, the perfect temple, “tabernacled” among us (John 1:14).

When Jesus ascended to heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to indwell His followers (John 14:16-17), so that we would be God’s tabernacles and temples in the world (1 Cor. 3:16; 6:19). As God’s representatives of His presence, let’s find ways to bring the peace and hope of heaven to others on earth.

For Further Thought
Ask God to use you in the lives of others and to show you some ways to apply this devotional at work, in your home, and in your neighborhood.

A Christian who is willing to do little things for others can do great things for the Lord.

The Soldier’s Code

Good morning, ALL! What beautiful, beautiful graphics the last few days!

Kitty, I wanted to tell you that because you mentioned having the Opera browser the other day, I decided to try it. Wasn't happy with Firefox, especially since the colors don't always match Internet Explorer, and since I had to uninstall Firefox anyway to get a clean install after getting rid of IE 8.

I am happy to say that OPERA LOOKS SO MUCH LIKE INTERNET EXPLORER I have a hard time remembering which one I'm using!! YAY! Meg's green colored text from the other day (which was black in Firefox) was the same shade of green as in IE!

I'm doing the happy dance!

The Lord is our refuge, (safe haven) He is our fortress,(Strong place for protection), He is our high tower, (a place that is far seeing and watching for the approach of an enemy.

None is like the Lord God of Israel. Let us come to Him in love, in confidence, and in trusting His promises, and His Word to the end. He is beyond our knowing all His ways and thoughts, Let us turn to Him and do unto our brethren as we would have them do unto us.

Father God help us in our day, in Jesus name, amen.

Anybody watch Tom Selleck in "Jesse Stone" last night? We've watched them all (I think there have been about 4 episodes over the last few years now). I LOVE that dog in the show, and the Golden in the back row in this picture looks SO MUCH like him - that expression of his never changes! :)
