Deer and javelina ate the tops - the moles ate the roots. Not a thing left - not even a thorn. LOL

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS!

Amazing Grace
by John Newton
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see. . Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, . And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed! . Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home. . The Lord has promised good to me, His Word my hope secures; He will my Shield and Portion be, As long as life endures. . Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace. . The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine; But God, Who called me here below, Will be forever mine. . When weve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, Weve no less days to sing Gods praise Than when wed first begun.

The most beautiful one was called The Senator. (It was a Republican, I am sure - because it was pure, beautiful, elegant and smelled wonderful!)
I can’t find it on the net. I bought it in a five gallon container from a very good garden center, here.

This is my Neptune Rose.
It's a beautiful lavender color
and has THE most wonderful scent!
It does get overheated quickly though. Sad. :(

Happy Caturday to YOU, Meg!See you tomorrow!

Have you tried landscape roses like the Meidiland (sp) Roses? Their bloom form isn't that great but they may stand up better to the animals. I know some ppl here who have buried wire mesh around their plants to deter moles.

Stunningly beautiful, Luv! When we get into the really high temps here, I find myself watering two or three times a day.

It is simply gorgeous when the Texas sun hasn’t had a chance
to bake the petals to a crisp! I wish you could smell it. :D

PRAYERS GOING UP FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND NATION!
GEORGE WASHINGTON THE PRAYER AT VALLEY FORGE
In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.
In like manner, let our prayers now rise for our heroes in the American military who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your healing wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Amen.

I’ve tried everything (well, not everything, like the Meidiland rose) - but even planted a whole bed of giant marigolds - and they were all gone in a week. I planted tomatoes three years ago, after wrapping household insulation around the roots, and then tight, compact chicken wire around that, before planting the plants - and the underground critters just put their little claws through the chicken wire, pulled the insulation out, and ate the roots.
I have had vegetable gardens and flower gardens and rose gardens everywhere I ever lived. This is the only place that God’s critters are smarter than me. LOL

Oh, my goodness, Luv! That is BEAUTIFUL!!! I had roses when I lived there, but they were never as beautiful as that!!

Thank you, Yorkie!
It was a birthday gift from a very dear FReeper FRiend who
lives in the east. It’s not adapted to our heat, but in
the springtime before it gets H O T, it does very well. I
had about 14 blooms on it last week!

I have had two Cancellations, so my other Heroic Students have all offered to do extra songs to fill in the gaps!
That's the Kind of Musicians I Train!
