(CNN) -- Danish cuisine reigns supreme, according to some of the planet's most prominent eaters.
S. Pellegrino's annual "World's 50 Best Restaurants" list was released on Monday at a celebrity-chef-studded event in London, England, marking the ninth edition of the much buzzed-about (and hotly debated) catalogue of the international culinary landscape.
The No. 1 spot goes to Noma in Copenhagen, Denmark. The restaurant, helmed by chef René Redzepi, ranked No. 3 in 2009. The Guardian newspaper's restaurant critic Jay Rayner -- better known to U.S. food fans as a judge on "Top Chef Masters" -- agrees with the judges' decision.

People line up at 2:00 AM in February at Kelley’s Roast Beef on Revere Beach in Revere, MA.
Cebollas isn’t too bad of a Mexican restaurant, and I should know - I’m from Texas!
That's the way it is at these places. My father was very much a steak and potatoes guy. When we would dine at some world class restaurants, especially in France, he would usually order a steak. He would grumble about the portion and wonder how the restaurant attained its reputation. The courses are small because you are supposed to order all of them to have a complete meal.

No Molly's.
Seriesly, we're gonna have to hit Trail Rider or K&I this fall.
Trail Rider and Molly’s share the same parking lot. Molly’s has much better architecture, Trail Rider is a singlewide.
No Applebees?
ONE-STOP PHOTO OP!!1!
Only because Kelly’s is open at that hour and the patrons are drunk. Kelly’s isn’t even in the top five for seafood or roastbeef on the northshore.
Haven't been here, but I hear of a new place called WD-40 that's really slick.
WOW! You’ve gotta get us a picture of that, Slim. Wish I could join you guys!
Wow! Another Owl Bar fan!
Where is Sharkey and Viola’s Diner?
You mean it did not make the cut? Amazing, simply amazing!!!
I did not see two from Paris , The Tour, and Maxim’s.
Is Maxim’s still around? At one time that was the place in Paris to have dinner and really see the elite.

They made the Coney Island withdraw from the competition after winning three years in a row.
The crazy things a cold climate does to heavy drinkers, lol.
I’ve actually always wanted to try that but no one makes it in the South.
As for the list, screw it. No Cajun or Creole restaurants...
