Good evening.
This morning the beauty of the countryside as I drove to church was heart-stopping. It is a landscape that has become very dear to me thru the seasons: in the river's valley it's easy to fall quietly into another time, another age. And then I remembered nature's terrible destructiveness yesterday on other landscapes, places that others hold dear. How to explain it all?? I can't..not easily.
Then at church, there was much joy: the confirmands were accepted into the church's membership with celebration and love. All these young people had found focus and purpose on the past year's journey.
But our church family also absorbed some terrible news: a dear couple has learned that the husband has a deadly cancer.
And there again the juxtaposition of joy and deep sorrow. That was the theme of the day, and perhaps many days in our lives and that of our country.
Thinking about it off and on throughout the day, one thing does seem clear. And that is that with God's help, it is possible to face it all...a rich, precious existence, not always understood, but appreciated nonetheless.
Welcome to the new thread!
Today was a lovely drive through Alabama. There were some wind gusts but overall it was a great trip. The car performed wonderfully well. I am now at my friend’s house in H’ville and dreadfully imposing upon him for the next two weeks.
I had a nice chat with the head of the missions committee at my home church and enjoyed worshipping with those wonderful folks.
Then, I called Jackie and we’re having dinner together tomorrow night. Woo Hoo!
My friend is sitting about five feet away on his computer and I am on mine. Who says that computer use would separate people!
I wish you check in.
Hi Molly! Thanks for the start.
We attended a grandson’s first communion this morning. On the way home I commented to Mr IG, that I continue to be stunned when I realize how many different colors of green there are on display in an Iowa Springtime.
Prayers for the couple.
Those are wise words that you wrote. I must remember to step back from all the hubub to enjoy all the beauty and goodness.
Good morning everyone.
So I went in for my annual physical and I asked the doc if this body would last another 10 years and the doc said, “well, do you smoke?
No.
Do you drink
No
Do you fool around with the women
No.
Well, what the h*ll do you want to live another ten years for?
[old joke]
Drive back was very nice. However, there was one thing that disturbed me. I was westbound on I-70 around Goodland KS , but in Colorado by this time and there came up behind me 4 identical new white Ford pickups obviously traveling together because they would only stay about 3 car lengths apart and eerily changed lanes in such a manner as if they were tethered together. They each had a "U.S. Govmn't" license plate and the leader was a black woman by herself and the others were mostly young people, many black as far as I could tell.
Now the thing that really made me wonder was that the speed limit was 75 and they were going at a minimum of 80. If you are a government employee driving a govmn't vehicle, you do not exceed the speed limit or you could get into big trouble. The other thing was that the caravan reeked of Hussein. If anyone has a nose for all things Hussein, it is me. Now it could have been something as innocuous as a bunch of young people going out to be trained as forest rangers, or as alarming as bunch of young people going out to be trained as part of Hussein's "civilian police force as well armed and funded as the U.S. military" as he put it on a July day in 2008 in Colorado Springs during a campaign speech. I don't know....maybe tin foil hat 2/3rds? Maybe just excessively paranoid?
Hi all...
Guenevere, unfortunately I've read that some evangelicals are now on board with the Green agenda. Sad....
Any organization can be infiltrated & used for the opposition agenda..
....I've certainly been educated in that tactic the last year, especially....ie,William Ayers, Cloward-Pivens, etc....or any Socialist philosophy.
What do you call a camel without any humps?
Humphrey :)).....get it.
Nice breakfast, lysie.
Good Morning Everyone.
Elsewise, the Communists are getting ready for more cram downs. First up - financial "reform". Then, Geithner: 'I Never Had A Real Job'... , is proposing that global rules govern US financial transactions. Now who runs 25% of the world's economy?
Health bill most important thing Senate has done for the world
Yes, the world - because it will reduce American competitiveness. So, sure, it'll make the world feel better at the expense of the United States.

As expected, HERE IT IS WAITING FOR ME, sure know how to get to a mans heart, thru his tummy.
Nary a could in the sky, kinda warm, still have that morning chill, ever so slight, here in way south Ms we missed the storms that hit Yazoo City, such a quaint town situated on the start of the hills from the delta.
SIL has one more section of the fence to work on, from my hous to the big house, one side of the yard already up, looks good.
To all a good morning, happy one, sweet one, the kind of day YOU want to have and it is so nice to awake and log on to the best of the best.

That sherrif and Governor got the attention of the ‘party in charge’, or did it. I look at this being a tool to get ALL hispanics as Americar citized who are here now, not to mentin thousands and thousands to come over, nothing better at Obamaville.

Going to run to town soon to pick up a bunch of clothes baskets a store is giving to me at cost for my Christian book drive. I love it, being busy, go-go-go.
