One huge rock was hurtling through the night air over Wisconsin last night. It was so bright that citizens could see the land light up. At around ten in the evening video cameras that are always pointed at the sky showed a very startling sight. A fireball of uncommon size was hurtling through the air.
This was not one of those short now you see it now you don't type of displays. This event lasted for fifteen minutes. Just due West of Milwaukee, Wisconsin the meteor was seen behind skyscrapers and other buildings as it traveled East.
The other states that saw this meteor were Missouti, Indiana and Illinois. Ohio also reported a few sightings. The National Weather Service stated that the event looks like what a meteor would normally look like. This one just happened to be an extra large one.
Although fires were reported, no deaths or injuries have been reported. The Federal Aviation Administration verified that what was seen was actually a meteor. One lucky person also was able to view it from his airplane seat on a plane. He said he saw it from Las Vegas to Chicago. In his words it was amazing.

Diana, was this anywhere near you? Did you see it? They had video of this in Iowa and Idaho as well. Pretty strange occurrence.

They're looking for the pieces. Our Universities are putting out an APB for anyone that finds a chunk. So far, there are no reports that it hit anything or anyone...but it'll take a while to search the hundreds of thousands of acres of farm fields here in Fly-over Country.
Or else it's a Government Conspiracy of some kind...

Are we SURE it wasn’t a fizzled attempt at an EMP strike? The Reichstag fire crisis which will not go to waste? < /sarc >

Rain of Iron and Ice
by John S. Lewis
On November 27,1919, a meteorite fell into Lake Michigan near the Michigan shore. "Residents of Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, South Bend, Grand Haven, and other Western Michigan cities fled from their homes in panic, fearing an earthquake. Houses were shaken, the country was illuminated as by a bright sun's rays, so all-enveloping it was impossible to tell from which direction the flare came, the earth trembled for half a moment and then came a deep prolonged rumbling as of a terrific explosion." (p 159)
