I lost my job and I am about to become homeless. My landlord is trying to help but I only have til Friday to find a job. I am 52 and I am alone. FReepers are some of the best prayer warriors I know. Please pray for me.
Another guy took his smoker on the road and sells smoked fish on weekends on the side of the road when there are no county inspectors to harass him. He has sold out every weekend but one for the past year, plus people pay him to cut trees for them and he takes the wood if it's the right type to use for the smoker.
If I may ask, what’s the reason you were given for being fired?
Employment Law in Oregon
Under federal law, an employer doesn’t have to hire, or promote, the most qualified applicant. But the employer cannot base decisions on personal characteristics that are not job-related. These characteristics often include:
Age
Race
Sex
Religion
National origin
Disability
Do you have any freeper here who knows you and can vouch for you?

PRAYERS FOR JOB AND LOOMING HOMELESSNESS.
PLEASE PRAY AS YOU’D WANT PRAYERS IN A SIMILAR SITUATION.
Dear Heart, what region are you in?
It might be that some FREEPERS could put some legs to their prayers in terms of help if they knew you were nearby.
Prayers up.
Those who suggested temp agencies are right on the money. I was a “career temp” for a while, and they kept offering me permanent jobs. The beauty of it is, you get to “try before you buy.” In other words, you’ll know whether a job is a good fit and whether or not to sign on as a full-time employee. In the meantime, at least some money will be coming in. Temp work is flexible, too, so if you land an interview for a permanent job, it’s not that hard to get a day off to go on the interview.
Good luck, and I will be praying for you!
Will most definitely pray for your situation, and that your faith may be increased.
What part of the country are you in and what kind of work do you do? Perhaps a Freeper can offer some assistance with work or a place to live.
