I thought it was terrible. The great thing to me about that song was its almost novelistic quality. It was almost Dicknesian in the original.

I have always searched for the proper term to describe the mood of the original. That is a GREAT term — perfectly accurate.
Mike’s version was more “Hardy Boys.”
His song is "Eleanor Rigby". I hate to admit it but it's pretty good. His voice really fills out the song. Changes the arrangement a little. Good job.
Randy: I'm not sure all of that worked, but the parts that did work were great. That could be a joint on the radio. I love seeing the artist in you blossom.
Ellen: You can do anything. So many different sides of you. I thought that was a huge risk. Thought it was incredible.
Kara: I thought that was inspired! Changed it up. Building, building, and sold it! Maybe some things were a little crazy with the arrangement. Great job.
Simon: Didn't love it as much as the other three. This is the sort of thing you see and hear in musicals. I don't think it made you contemporary at all. Took you slightly backwards. Too over the top. Slightly confused now about what artist you want to be in this competition. Theatrical.

Glee is OK. I don’t like it so much that I make it a point to watch it, but when I have caught it it’s cute.

I haven’t been able to get myself to watch it. It seems there is always an informercial or test pattern on somewhere that looks more interesting.
I thought Big Mike did a good job with that song.
