A green, glowing UFO was photographed over a 19th Century windmill in Norfolk, England recently, causing a little stir in the United Kingdom over whether it was a man-made craft or an alien ship.
Photographer Peter Rye was photographing Denver Mill in Downham Market at night late last month and afterwards discovered the bizarre green object in the sky.
He was taking long-exposure pictures on a tripod of the historic 1853 landmark that is illuminated nightly.
Rye told the British press that he did not hear or see anything unusual while taking the photographs until he went home to Kings Lynn.
The green light was visible on some of his pictures but not all of them indicating that it was not an object on his lens, and it seemed to have traveled from right to left.
The mill is 30 miles from a RAF base, lending speculation it might have been a military craft. Manager of the windmill Lindsay Abel told Daily Mail this week: It is very strange it has to be said.
Abel said the structure was used as a navigational tool during World War II.
The Germans used it in the war when they headed up to the Midlands to bomb, she said.
Maybe the UFO looking down saw these strange sails and wondered what the hell it was!
That scene is so outrageously unrealistic. Here in New York, Godzilla could walk down the street and no one would notice! (not quite, but damn near). It appears to be a location somewhere in New York City.
As Fred would say, "va va varooooom!!!!!!!!!"
“Green UFO.
Even the space aliens are getting to be eco-freaks...”
Or Irish. It is almost St. Patrick’s Day
Notice the night and day pictures are taken from different sides of the windmill. In the night shot, the vanes are facing away from the photog. In the day shot, they’re facing toward him. No idea if there’s something in the background of the first picture.
Come on in. The water’s fine.
LOL
“You have to admit...Ann Margrock was pretty hot for a cave-dweller.”
So true, but cartoon cavegirl babes have nothing over the real flesh & blood type cavegirls like Barbara Bach or Rochell Welch.
Good point.
Sayyyy, is that Grover’s Mill????
Notice the building to the left of the windmill tower in the night picture, with the vanes of the windmill facing away. That building is in the same position to the windmill tower in the day shot, but now the vanes of the windmill are facing forward.
If the pictures were taken from opposite sides of the windmill tower, the building would be seen to be on the other side of the tower.
I hadn’t noticed that, but you’re right. Except for the vanes on the opposite side it’s pretty clear whoever did the second photo tried to make it look like it was taken from the same place as the first. Nice catch....
Point taken. I hadn’t considered that.
Good question. That would be an interesting feat to engineer the mechanism that would allow the top to pivot, all made out of wood. I'd love to see the innards of one of those. Now, you got my curiosity up.....
