Those cranes really make their presence known with that odd sound they make. It makes me go out of the greenhouses to see where they are. The ones the other day were hundreds of feet up in the air, but they are so big I could still count them.
One time a few years ago, I had a crane incident.
I was in one of the greenhouses. All of a sudden “HONK,HONK,HONK!!!”. I jumped right off the ground.
There were two or three of the cranes and they had flown just a few feet above the roof of the greenhouse when they sounded off and woke me up better than any caffeine would have ever done.
The sound they make is very strange. Not really a honk, it’s indescribable.
Some low flying geese also “got me” once as I worked outside in the summer.

Lol, I would have Jumped Off the Ground, too! They have Never Sounded Off right by me, but would Wake me up in a Hurry, if they did.
At the End of Each Day, a Few Geese Fly Over the Property to Go Next Door to our Neighbors Pond Area, were they Apparently Sleep. I Always Stop whatever I'm Doing to Listen to them Honking, because they Sound So Cute. The Ducks Quacking are Cute, too!
Robins, Cardinals, Titmice, and a Mockingbird have been Singing Here at the King's Ranch over the Last Couple of Weeks, and they Bring me So Much Joy. Our Lord is Good!

Seems like there are days that I am gone more than usual.

The Real Hero
He must increase, but I must decrease. John 3:30
Louis B. Neumiller was known for his humility, integrity, and commitment to quality. As president of the Caterpillar Tractor Company from 194154, he led the manufacturer of earth-moving equipment through the challenges of World War II into global expansion. In the book In Their Time: The Greatest Business Leaders of the Twentieth Century, authors Mayo and Nohria describe Neumillers leadership as success without fanfare. His mark of greatness, they note, was that he took his identity out of the business and let his company become a hero instead of himself.
We see the same quality of selflessness in John the Baptist, the dynamic preacher who repeatedly affirmed his mission of paving the way for the Messiah. When Johns followers became concerned that Jesus was baptizing people and crowds were following Him, John replied: You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but, I have been sent before Him. . . . He must increase, but I must decrease (John 3:28,30).
As followers of Christ, are we lifting Him up instead of seeking honor for ourselves? Rather than being disappointed when our contribution is unnoticed, we should be glad because our highest privilege is to magnify the Lord. Hes the hero!
Honoring Him is the mark of greatness.
A Prayer: Lord, teach us to be humble. May our desire be that You be known, honored, loved, and exalted in every thought and actionabove ourselves. Amen.
The great Christian is one who is small enough to let God be great in his life.
