"24" Themed Countdown Clock (1 Minute)
Set in New York City, "Day Eight" unfolds amidst the shadows of the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations as President Allison Taylor (Jones), alongside new chief of staff ROB WEISS (Chris Diamantopoulos), negotiates international security with OMAR HASSAN (Anil Kapoor), a determined Middle Eastern leader visiting the U.S. on a peacemaking mission. As the new day begins, an upgraded CTU operates under the command of M.B.A.-schooled, razor-sharp head honcho BRIAN HASTINGS (Mykelti Williamson), who supervises quirky CHLOE O'BRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub), expert data analyst DANA WALSH (Katee Sackhoff) and systems analyst ARLO GLASS (John Boyd).
COLE ORTIZ (Freddie Prinze Jr.), an ex-Marine who wants to follow in Bauer's footsteps, leads field operations while Agent RENEE WALKER (Annie Wersching) returns with an agenda of her own. Created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, 24 is a production of 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Television in association with Teakwood Lane Productions.

As the last 30 minutes of this fantastic television show ends, Id like to salute every one of you 24-FReepers. You have made this, one of the best shows ever broadcast on TV, all the more fantastic! I second that! We only started watching midway through the amazing season 5, then went back and watched every season from 1 through 5 again while waiting for season 6.
It has been sheer pleasure to read this thread after watching the show (sometimes the next day). I laughed, I cried, I had a blast. Thanks to all!

The actor who plays Logan should get an Emmy. Yes. Itzin deserves an Emmy for his flawlessly complicated, creepy, slimy, whiny, wheedly, cowardly character of President Logan.

Dang, that almost made me cry. It DID make me cry. There is no truer love than that between Chloe and Jack. And Jack appreciating how she was the wind beneath his wings the whole time... Sniff...
I will miss this show.

thank you for the 24 pings...

“What a great ending.”
Is it really the end? What if come next January Fox announces the beginning of season 9 a few days before the show.
Wouldn’t that create a furor? And wouldn’t that be how Jack would do it?

I stopped watching 24 about halfway through this season. It truly was stale. The notion that any boob off the street could walk into CTU was overplayed by about season three; and the "good female/minority president" was also overplayed. But the "intrigue" with the Iranian president this season just got boooooring. I do have to go back and see who Jack killed, but that's the only thing I want to review over this season.
I thought the finale was tepid, and certainly nothing like the finale of "the Shield," which ranks as the greatest series end ever, in my book. Contrast Vic Mackey, left in hell where he cannot use his power, his badge, or his gun to intimidate others (or right wrongs), and the sirens blasting outside while he, gun in hand, is deciding whether to a) break Ronny out of jail or b) join the cops or c) shoot himself vs. Jack left, well, free to be Jack---alone and on the run . . . . It was disappointing to say the least. I think season three or four---can't remember which at this point---was when 24 peaked.

Thank you both for the threads, the pings and for providing a place to have some fun :)
Now to donate Jack's man bag to the Smithsonian, where it can be displayed along side Fonzie's leather jacket and Indiana Jones' fedora.

I thought the finale was tepid, and certainly nothing like the finale of "the Shield," I didn't follow The Shield. I suppose if I watched its finale, out of context, I wouldn't like it very much either.
This wasn't be the best season of 24. For a while it looked like the worst. But the last 10 episodes or so were outstanding.

I actually knew what you were talking about before you posted the video. It's always fun to post obscurities like that, because you know someone here will get it. 8~)

Did I miss the part where they found and saved Parole Officer Bill Dauterive out of the wall Manhands shoved him in?

I loved the end of The Shield!
I was blown away by the scene where Claudia and Dutch walk into the FBI building and watch Vic testify that he killed a fellow cop, robbed the Money Train and gave drugs to dealers he was protecting...crimes far, far worse than the crimes they had envisaged of him.
Excellent, excellent series, among the best ever.
The best acting, too...Acevada, Dutch, Vic, Ronnie, all of them Emmy worthy.
I like Breaking Bad a lot, too...

The last scene was Vic reporting to a desk.
It was, by far, the worst thing you could do to him. Existential hell.
