Is anyone else concerned the gov't is advertising the Christmas bomber is talking?

It might just be me, but in my humble opinion, you simply DON'T advertise what is, or isn't, being said by an enemy of the state since that info can and will be used by the enemy to adjust strategy.

Since it's being advertised he's talking and there is "actionable intelligence" being gathered, it seems to me that any information he's providing is totally useless since adjustments have already been made.

Let people complain that nothing is being done, but you needn't advertise the success, if any.

I wonder how much success the WOT under Bush had that we never heard about and will never know.

Loose lips sink ships, and this gov't has loose lips. NEVER give the enemy the advantage which is what they've done here.

Just my 2 cents.

What concerns me that the idiots in this administration were touting only two weeks ago that the 52 minute interrogation was long enough to get all the information they needed.

Their contention: If the briefs-bomber is talking and telling ‘where’ he trained, etc., al-Qaeda will pick up their tents and move to a new location.

Very little that is covert is done in a hurry. If you panic your opposition and force them to react quickly then secrecy is often compromised in the name of speed and it's much easier to spot them. I doubt we know where the camps are. But if you plant the information and expect that reaction, and prepare for it ahead of time, then you can spot the tents being moved. Now you know where they were and watch where they move to.

You may be libeling the Insane Clown Posse (rock band), but, I’m not a lawyer :-)

While I understand there is benefit, there are covert ways to let it be known he “may” be talking rather than advertising it in neon.

It’s the nonchalant way they’re all over the news with this that bothers me.

Since the government is concerned about attacks in the next few months, they may be announcing this with the hope some of the plans will be aborted. It doesn't give me great confidence they got any specific information from the Undy Bomber.

What great news! Why , for a moment there, I forgot he was black.

Just another PR story for the Main Stream Media to brodcast.

IMHO, radical islam will never abort anything. They’ll simply change tactics when circumstances demand.

We're not dealing with God's swiftest creatures here. We're dealing with people who try to blow things up with their underpants. Subtlty is often lost.

Besides, what better, less impeachable source can there be for this information than the free American press? An anonymouos leak from an administration source. Blaring it all over the front page of the New York Times. Have Fox cast doubts on the administrations actions. I truly think that whoever set this up knew exactly what they were doing and knew exactly how to play the media. Which means the plan wasn't hatched by anyone in the administration.

The government is covering its butt for mishandling him, and it is covering it as fast and as thoroughly as it can. Actually, it was done very cleverly in a way that made the media think they had “discovered” something, when in fact the media delivered exactly the message the BO administration wanted delivered. “We are getting info from him. All the criticism was premature. We know what we’re doing.” All of those messages are more or less false.

Take any point in time during the last 8 years. Put this same panel in front of Congress. Ask them the same question. Do you honestly think that any of them would have answered "No"?

They are lying.

They know there is a plot under way to attack us and they are hoping if they broadcast that the “Fruit of the boom” terrorist is talking, they will scare off the next plot.

They are so clueless.

You have a good point.

It is like Obama is warning the Terrorists to take cover.

Of course you are right. This administration is using this for publicity, as it does everything else.

Covering up Eric Holder's “miranda” decision by telling the world “see! the terrorist is talking!”

You sure nailed it!

True, and it involves government funding fiefdoms now too.

On one hand, yes it's a stupid tactic for waging war.

On the other hand, if you don't have the balls to actually do something effective with the information, it doesn't really matter.

CYA of the I-bama Admin nitwits that have reaped the whirlwind of outrage over Mirandizing and lawyering up this piece of crud after 50 minutes and then claiming they got all the info from him they needed.

Which brings us to the question no one is asking.

After questioning him for 50 minutes and then proclaiming they got all the info from him they needed and he could offer, why are they still questioning him?

Were they lying then or are they lying now?
