Since the government is concerned about attacks in the next few months, they may be announcing this with the hope some of the plans will be aborted. It doesn't give me great confidence they got any specific information from the Undy Bomber.

IMHO, radical islam will never abort anything. They’ll simply change tactics when circumstances demand.

Put this same panel in front of Congress. Ask them the same question. Do you honestly think that any of them would have answered "No"?
