Unlike some other high concept series like Heros, Lost has been able to hold my interest pretty well. Good writing will out!
stupid question but are there only 12 episodes?
I’m in, thanks for the ping.
15 with a two hour premiere and finale.
Heres my prediction for LOST:
Global warming causes the ice caps to melt. Lost polar bears float on broken ice chunks which are drawn magnetically to the island due to trace iron trailings embedded in the ice from mining activities in Alaska. Famished, the bears land on the island and eat Kate, Hurley, Sawyer, Jin, Jack, etc. just before sinking into the depths of the rising ocean.
The final scene shows Locke cruising on his wheelchair turned jet boat toward the newly revealed Antarctic continent where Ron Hubbard has secretly been controlling the world with his e-meter.
Remember...you heard it here first!
They had one season that was weak, and then turned it around. I hope the last season continues to be satisfying.
OK, now I am totally confused. Where IS the official thread??? I am LOST! ;)
Someone moved the official thread. It’s kind of a measure of last resort, because whoever moves the thread can never come back.
Whew, thank you!
LOL
I only watch lost on DVD to many commercials. So I will wait for the DVD I still have not finished watch season 5. I have a disc and a 1/2 to go
The beginning of season 3 eas the weakest point, but did they ever make up for it in the last half-—HOLY COW
To: Bob J
Yeah, but Im a little upset about the the season premiere being three hours long. Do you know if the first hour is a recap?

It’s not for everyone, though. Fortunately, you’ve got options, like “Kitchen Nightmares” or “Biggest Loser: Couples.”

However, they do have an hour recap at 8pm, that may help, but I have doubts...and Im not being glib. Its just very complicated from the science to the mythology and philosophy to the ships (relationships).
Give it a try and if you like it find someone who has the other seasons on DVD.
I never watched a single episode until after the 4th season when a friend recommended it and gave me season 1 and 2. Bought 3 and 4 and was up to speed for the 5th.

How can work expect much out of me today? It’s LOST DAY!!!
To: Bob J; Lucky9teen
Lucky9teen posted some of the best comment threads from the web I’ve ever seen concerning Lost last season. I wound up looking forward to the Lost thread the day after the show aired more than I looked forward to the actual show! LOL!
BTW...glad to make the acquaintance of another Lost fan.

But let’s back up some. The numbers came from Valenzetti who was commissioned by the UN the determine how much longer mankind had to exist. This happened after the Cuban missile crisis in Oct 1962 and said it was completd “in less than a year”. We have to do a little extrapolation here. The UN doesn’t do anything quickly so let’s say that order came in early to mid 1963.
Years and months, years and months. 4-8-15-16-23-42
Taking Hanso at his words, let’s apply 4-15-23 as years and 8-16-42 as months. Add them up and you come up with 47.5 years. If Valenzetti completed his work “in less than a year” that brings us to mid 1964 or 1964.5. Add 47.5 years and you have...
2012
Ouch!
