OH my goodness!!!!! Whoeee - he should have had that interception.

Ravens field goal ties it up.

Well, it looked like they were headed for TD so FG is ok.

Colts Defense has to improve.

There's no real trick to playing Manning; you have to defend the entire field. Many QBs, even at the pro level, have very strong tendencies and stick to one receiver. With Manning, the D has to play fundamental. Guys cannot abandon their assignments, cause Manning will not tip the play with his tendencies.

I hope I'm not making it sound like it's easy to defend Manning. I just mean that all the little tricks that work with a lot of QBs don't work with him and the D has to cover all the bases equally and play him straight up and honest.

3-3! Do we have an actual competitive game that doesn't look like a video arcade?

The Colts are gonna throw, and thats about it. I think the Ravens will pick Manning, watch and see.

Bethea should have hung on for the 100 yard TD.

Haven’t seem one of those since, when? Week 14?

Yes, it is a good game already. Glad the venison was good.

My dinner was adequate (crockpot Asian chicken on rice with pineapple, broccoli, iced tea, and Moravian cookies).

The Ravens pass defenders seem to be right on top of the Colts receivers but the passes are still being caught-most of them-so far.

Manning has to be the most accurate passer in the game.

Yep - it was right in his hands. That may come back to haunt the Colts...but it’s early in the game.

Manning’s pinpoint accuracy doesn’t make a defender’s job any easier, either. It’s rare when he misses.

He made the mistake many DBs make. He was thinking score and took his eye off the ball too early.

Hes top notch, but the Colts have a crappy running game. That doesent help him set up. The Ravens just have to stay tight on the receivers and something may bounce their way. IMO

The Ravens have played better on offense than I expected.

I think it’s mostly about learning how the receivers are running their routes. Manning spreads the ball, but there are still patterns to exploit.

There’s no good way to prepare for Manning, but there is a way smart secondaries can figure him out. You have to do it during the game, though, because while Manning is consistent, his receivers aren’t, necessarily. And as much as I hate the Ravens, they have one of the smartest secondaries in football.

I’m enjoying this. We’re seeing a chess match when the Colts have the ball.

Cameron is gonna have Flacco throw more, I just hope he can stay focused. Cameron is good at mixing things up, hopefully Flacco can deliver.

Well, next to their passing game the Colts running game isn’t so good but Joseph Adai, when healthy, has been very good. I don’t even know if he’s healthy now.

Yep I expect to see some interceptions by both teams.

Collinsworth said it best — if they could catch, they would be receivers, not DBs.

Speaking of Adai——what a great play to save from a disaster....

Collin Cowherd was on the radio the other day making the argument that all of the Colts’ success over the last decade has come almost purely from the greatness of Peyton Manning. They certainly weren’t winning games with their defense, and pretty much anyone else who was “good” on their offense was simply made to look good by Manning.

I found it pretty convincing. He’s rarely had anyone around him who was a star (either in college or in the NFL) before he came to the Colts, and just look at what became of Colts “stars” after they leave. Edgerrin James immediately became a 2 yard-per-carry back with the Cardinals, and Marvin Harrison, often touted as one of the best receivers of his generation, wasn’t even picked up after the Colts released him.

Does anyone really think Pierre Garcon or Dallas Clark would be anything with another quarterback? I’m not even sure Reggie Wayne would cut it as a #1 receiver on most teams.
