I think Ellen was taken out to the woodshed.
She dialed it back a lot last week and this week she is so nice and serious that she might as well mail it in.

Kara: Lot of people out there really like you. We get a sense of who you are. Really good performer. But you need about a year of strenghtening your instrument. Pitch issues that need to be worked out.
Simon: I don't want to make this any worse than it already is. It was a mess. On paper, it should have worked. There's irony about you singing a song about climbing while you're fallng.
