I liked it, but then I love that song.
I’m liking the harmonica and the general upbeat song.
Usually Morrisett is another artist that creates comparisons, but this was original and fun.
What is that under her lower lip?
Best thus far, I must say.
So far the best tonight.
I don’t know who that is. What is the significance?
Second best of the night.
Crystal Bowersox sings Alanis Morrissette’s “Hand In My Pocket” (not one of my favorite Alanis songs)
If it was just her singing, it might just be ordinary, but playing guitar and harmonica gives her a definite edge.
I was waiting for the monkey to come out with the organ grinder.
LOL...Simon doesn’t pull any punches!
I hate lip and chin rings.
I thought she was really good.....
LOL! And she gives Simon lip! A little too “coffehouse” for my taste, but if she keeps that up, I’ll like her anyway.
Simon is playing Severus Snape tonight- giving helpful advice in a seeming criticism.
>>I hate lip and chin rings.<<
And almost all the girls have them. If someone were to turn on one of those acme magnets from Bugs Bunny or the Roadrunner, 2/3 of the girls would slam into it face first.
It was kinda coffee house.... but VERY good coffee house. Problem with coffee house is that typically it isn’t all that good. I think she’s talented. BTW.... I can play guitar and harmonica at the same time too. Just can’t sing like that :)
Really working the single-mom angle in her video.
Crystal: Times are tough. Momma needs a bigger paycheck.
Her song is Alanis Morrisette's "Hand In Pocket". Possibly the best choice tonight. She's playing accoustic guitar and has the hands-free harmonica wrapped around her head.
Randy: You're one of my favorites. I love your originality. Love your honesty.
Ellen: You add something fresh to the show. If I were at home voting, I'd want to see more of you.
Simon: There are thousands of people like you doing this outside of subway stations. Trying not to be overly critical. (he's desperate for originality and uniqueness tonight) I really like you.
Kara: You were good tonight, but I think you have a greatness in you. You have the ability to take us on a journey. You're not just a coffee house performer. No doubt in my mind that you're going to be here next year--next week! Next week and next year!
We see a close-up of Crystal's guitar. It's autographed by Melissa Etheridge and Shania Twain.
Oh okay, LOL You scared me for a second :)
LOL, I heart IG ca 1994. I think I might know all the words... (pretty much up to Shaming of the Sun, got disenchanted after that...)
I want to be a glass-blowing apprentice!
