It's a spine-chilling discovery - hundreds of expertly-butchered human bones that suggest cannibalism was rife among early man. What's even more shocking is that the victims may have been HAPPY to be eaten ...
The birds are singing and the forest floor is dappled with sunlight. You can hear the sound of a babbling stream, running into the great river not far off to the east. Sharp ears might hear the drumming of a woodpecker or, high above, the cry of a sparrowhawk.

You’re a Gemini, right? There’s a new surgical procedure available in which a sense of humor can be implanted for those not having one.
Might give it a try.
What, no cannibal jokes on this thread?
“What do you call a cannibal who devoured his mother-in-law?”
“A Gladiator!!” Bada boom bada bing!
BTW, are you familiar with the dish known as a “cannibal sandwich”?
;^)
In survival situations, cannibalism was and is a lot more common that people are willing to discuss.
Amen. Every year I go over to Crescent City to see family and some days are cold and foggy even in the summer and fall but all I do is drive east about 20 minutes and I am in 80 degree sunshine and clear blue water(Smith River), and beautiful giant redwood trees. Nothing like it except where I live, Maui Hawaii. The best of two worlds.
Hmmm, sounds to me like they may have stumbled onto the first prehistoric site discovered with shmoos.

I might need your help getting one of those implant operations. I have no sense of humor, of which I am aware.
I have made a concerted effort to learn a few jokes, but it’s difficult telling them to people, because when they laugh they have to explain it to me - ‘cause I don’t “get” it.
I mean I “got it” a few times when I was young, but those girls would never go out with me again.
I am faitly conversant with existential jokes though. For example:
Q: Why did the monkey fall out of the tree?

.
A: It was dead.

If they found a shmoo well then it’s all true.
“7,000 years ago, Europe may have been in the grip of dramatic climate change,”
Yet another thing to blame on or forecast for climate change,
canabilism!
