1) The last half of 2008 will be declared a recession and it will continue through the first quarter. We will have little growth in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, modest growth in the 4th quarter.

Love your predictions about “ordinary” citizens gaining seats in the House and I totally agree. I think this will be the result of Beck’s organization and Palin campaigning for non-politicians to take back Congress. 30 seats is a good guess; I was hoping for somewhere in the 50 - 70 range of conservative Independents winning House seats.

Funny you say that. After seeing Glenn last night and thinking about AU's energy independence, low unemployment and good stock market this year for over a month, I have done some cursory research on AU bond funds/ETF's and have a found a few but do not know if I can access them.

My question right off the bat was why?
A friend of mine may have struck on the answer. Rather than buy from China or ? if the dollar tanks why pay a premium to buy/import from the outside. My gut feel tells me he is spot on and Team Mulally IMHO may be seeing it as well.
If so, you maybe spot on on getting out of US Dollars...

1) The recession will continue through the whole year, due to EPA crackdown on carbon producing business, along with cap and trade passage plus the health care bill, totally killing any positives in the economy
2) Euro at the end of 2010 will equal $1.87
3) Unemployement at the end of 2010 - 14.9% (only cause they don’t want it to be 15% officially)
4) Gold will be below $850 an ounce on 12/31/10
5) DJIA 6500 on 12/31/10.
6) Oil will be at $140 ppb on 12/31/10
Politics
1) GOP will retake the House and Senate. Rudy drops out of Senate race again and NY stays with democrats. 9 prominent Dems will be defeated in both Houses.
2) 0bama will be at 30% 12-31-10
3) There will be talk of a primary challenge from 0bama’s left (I know it is impossible to believe). I agree with you here.
4) 10 or more GOPers will declare for President (other than Palin).
5) A Republican will be elected Governor of Maryland and Tennessee.
6. Major earthquake splinters the Madrid fault causing widespread devastion. Memphis practically ceases to exist as a functional city and makes New Orleans look good in comparison.
World
1. New Tory Govt in Britian in 2010. Agreed.
2. New find about Biblical figures will prove true.
3. UFO sittings to skyrocket in 2010.
4. Iran nukes Israel causing nuclear war in middle east.
5. Russia and Ukraine will go to war.
6. OBL is still dead, so we won’t hear from him still.

10. The NY Times will undergo a major financial restructuring, in a last ditch attempt to keep control with the Sulzberger family. They will sell off everything except the paper, and take out maximum loans on it.
I don't think that's going to happen.
all i care about at this point is that there is a tremendous upheaval in the congress in 2010 and that Obama is soundly defeated in 2012 showing voter dissatisfaction with his policy.
Giving the new president a TRUE mandate (not one stated by the president alone or by the MSM) by the people to reverse the direction our country is going in. And a TRUE MANDATE to suspend all the BS that this congress is pulling, trash what Obama has done and get back to the basics of a fiscally responsible government, with less regulation on it’s people.

why Australia?
Mulally had a lot to do with Airbus taking the head fake on the Sonic Cruiser, and then doing the 7E7 based on focusing on fuel costs as a source of restoring profitability.
He’s a very, very smart guy. Ford stock is cheap right now.
