The remains of a 16-year-old girl of the ancient Gaya Kingdom from 1,500 years ago is restored with cutting-edge technology. The Gaya National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, unveiled the restored woman yesterday after excavation of a sixth-century tomb. She is believed to have been a servant of the tomb`s owner and buried alive with the dead. She is presumed to have been 153.5 centimeters tall with a slender body. The display will run at the National Palace Museum of Korea in Seoul until Nov. 29. |

Sometimes I think only blind people should do reconstruction because we have built in bias.
The three of them look like a set of triplets.

I hope I’m that well preserved when I’m 1,500 years old.

Thank you - what a fascinating article. Do you know of more work like this being done on other ancient cultures?

Interesting post.
I do find it a bit weird that somehow a 1,600 year old 16 year old Korean girl would not look like a 16 year Korean school girl today except for the clothes and upgraded cell phone
