I am on my way to bed and walked over to close down for the night. You’re welcome, Amy! I worked some more today (in between resting)...did too much yesterday! Hope Marissa and her friend enjoyed the play you took them to today!! See you soon, Amy.

~Welcome To Sunday At Amy's Place~
May the joy and spirit of Christmas remain with us now and forever.

~High Holy Days~

Snow so softly falls silent out of the ebony sky
a blanket of forgetfulness over autumn's litter
and small lights strung challenges the stars above
lighting the season on porch, window, and trees

I smile as I walk tonight, for even sadness flees
for now we will celebrate the Season of His Dove
remembering what he would accept for us so bitter
and in doing so, set even my old sad soul to fly.

~Blessings To All Who Enter Here~

Advent Adventure
In His name Gentiles will trust. —Matthew 12:21

During the season of Advent on the church calendar, Christians around the world light candles. The first candle symbolizes hope. The prophet Isaiah said that all nations will place their hope or trust in Christ, God’s Chosen One (Isa. 42:1-4; Matt. 12:21).

We think of Advent from the perspective of earthbound creatures who know nothing but this life. We rejoice that Jesus came to visit us on this beautiful planet that He made especially for us. But it’s important to remember that Jesus came from a better place. He is first and foremost from heaven, a place more beautiful than we can imagine.

Whenever I think about Jesus coming to earth, I also consider that He had to leave heaven to get here. For Him, earth was hostile territory. Coming here was a dangerous venture (Matt. 12:14). Yet He came. Our just and compassionate God made Himself vulnerable to human injustice. The Creator of the universe put on the garment of flesh and came to experience firsthand what life here is really like.

Jesus tasted death for everyone (Heb. 2:9) so that we can taste His goodness (1 Peter 2:3). He left the splendor of heaven to bring us to glory (Heb. 2:10). He gave His own life to give us hope for eternal life.

The hope of Christmas is the song
Of angels in the sky,
And Christ within a manger laid
To bring salvation nigh. —Campbell

God broke into human history to offer us the gift of eternal life.

AMEN! I love all these Christmas messages, Rus. Thanks for always coming through for us. Wishing you a beautiful visit in Tennessee (even though its terribly cold)! Lots of snow fell here yesterday, even though it didn't lay too much. It was pretty pouring down though.

Meg, your Post is So Lovely! (((((((Sunday Blessings to you and All FRiends)))))))

This Poem is about my Heart Longing to See More and More of Christ in me,
A Spiritual Application of the Scripture "He must Increase, but I must Decrease."

The "Me" I Long to Be

Lord,
Sometimes I Feel So Far from Thee;
My Flesh is So Sinful and Weak.
How I Long to Actually See
The me I Want to be.

To Put Others Before myself,
Serving their Needs, and not mine:
My Jesus, Grant me Thy Strength and Help,
My Savior, So Loving and Kind.

Oh, to have Your Very Heart,
To Love Like You Love, my King.
Your Enablements to me Daily Impart;
To Your Grace and Mercies I Cling.

Lord, Thine Image, Thy Stamp, Let me Wear;
The Seal of Thy Spirit, and Lovely Fruit.
Thy Cross Help me to Thankfully Bear,
And Show Love in All I Do.

I'm Thankful Your Sacrifice Covers my Sins,
And Your Righteousness is Imputed to me.
May Jesus Increase, and Caroline end,
Then I'll be the "me" I Long to be.

~Kitty '09~
