One day my mother was out, and my dad was in charge of me. I was maybe 2 1/2 years old. Someone had given me a little 'tea set' as a gift, and it was one of my favorite toys. Daddy was in the living room reading the evening news when I brought Daddy a little cup of 'tea', which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home. My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was 'just the cutest thing!' My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I came down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy; and she watched him drink it up. Then she said, (as only a mother would know), "'Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?"
(some of you may have seen this in email...)

Polly, with the West Coast time and my Eastern time, there is no way we can party together....LOL!! I went upstairs at 11:30 and thought I would watch the ball drop! Well, I fell asleep before the ball dropped...guess I was just tired. Your time would have been around 8:30 I think! All you West coasties were having a great time and I was fast asleep! At least I had some fun earlier!
Your dress was beautiful! We have a great designer, don’t we?

I thought I had a New Year's poem somewhere ...
Say, Now!
A new first day! Lets start it right!
Gee, the daylights awfully bright.
Maybe I partied some last night,
Its in the past. Forget it!
Rise and greet the morning sun,
Lots of work still to be done.
Nobody said Life would be fun,
But if it is, well let it!
With exuberance well note,
Cheerful living gets my vote,
A prayer of thanks to Him devote?
Thats the way! You said it!
Someone lead us in a prayer,
If youve got a friend up there,
My examples not too fair,
Not the way Ive led it!
Alright, if you still insist,
No sense trying to resist,
I may get points for being missed,
I hope we wont regret it!
Lord, we humbly bow our head,
And ask again for daily bread,
Let the words be clearly said,
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
