Once would have been funny enough. The little girl kept knocking the manger over. Every time someone wanted to tickle the baby Jesus like they’d been instructed to do, she’d scream and try to cover him back up—and knock the manger over again. Poor Peyton kept picking it back up and putting it back together. He was the only one that even attempted to help. Course, the audience was almost in tears by the time they were done and got off the stage! It was definitely a “Funniest Home Video” moment. ;)

I’m laughing just with your descriptions!

Oh how absolutely precious!!!! I just love the innocence of sweet little children...

I well remember when my grandson, who is almost 24 now, was a lead singer in the school play...dressed up as a lamb. Makes me cry to think of it now. He is in Taiwan for Christmas meeting his girlfriend’s parents... who pastor a church over there!

Taiwan? Wow! I don’t even like mine to be gone for a day. They live with us, so I’ve got dibs! :) Can’t believe Peyton is almost 3. Doesn’t seem possible. Course, doesn’t seem possible that I’ve been married almost 30 years either. Where in the world does the time go?

Where in the world does the time go?

We pass it on to our kids, and they give us Grandkids who give the time back to us.

Hmmm...I'm not sure that makes any sense, but it's the way my Piper makes me feel!

I understand that perfectly! LOL

I catch myself doing things with my gbabies that my gma did with me. A snatch of lullaby, reading the same stories to them my gma read to me, teaching them games and how to get the eggs out of the nest box without getting pecked or upsetting the hen, gardening stuff like planting and harvesting and saving seeds.... So much fun!

I think the biggest difference is that I never remember my gma telling me, “Not today, I have to go to work!”

Polly and Garden Girl - when my son was married (to a Jewish girl) twelve years ago, at the reception, my son came up to me, and bowed and took my hand.

I didn’t know what was going on, but I stood up, and walked with him, alone onto the huge ball-room floor. The orchestra started playing this song, and the voice was exactally like the one on this clip. There I was, dancing with my son on his wedding day. The tears started, and had a hard time stopping:

SUNRISE, SUNSET - Fiddler on the Roof

(Tevye)
Is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little boy at play?

(Golde)
I don’t remember growing older
When did they?

(Tevye)
When did she get to be a beauty?
When did he grow to be so tall?

(Golde)
Wasn’t it yesterday
When they were small?

(Men)
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze

(Women)
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears

(Tevye)
What words of wisdom can I give them?
How can I help to ease their way?

(Golde)
Now they must learn from one another
Day by day

(Perchik)
They look so natural together

(Hodel)
Just like two newlyweds should be

(Perchik & Hodel)
Is there a canopy in store for me?

(All)
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears

HI all.. back from Dunkirk.. went well.. weather a little scary early in day as about 5 inches fell in morning but did clear.,roads salted & trip home okay

Friend Paul spent most of time with my uncle.. Uncle is in rehab with his knee REMOVED to get rid of strept & staph infections that seem to reoccur every two years or so since his knee replacement 10 years ago.

Uncle Bill was going into one of his “socialistic lapses” as his sons & I name them..(he is a registered GOP but is very anti war as a WW2 vet who just thinks war is wrong.. sign).. so i decided to drop off Paul, & walk dogs, go see my cousin for adjustment etc.. Love my uncle but do not love Obama or this nightmare of a healthcare fiasco

Only took about 8 pix total.. a new record.. enjoyed the lake in winter.. cool sharp breezes, beautiful images of birds in wind, driftwood/snow on shore, dogs frolicking at every turn.

No sleep at uncles. Paul slept upstairs in one of the rooms overlooking the lake. NO vented heat upstairs, just convection, so I jacked it up enough to accommodate the 80 + year old need for warmth.. I was miserably hot downstairs. Kept dogs in the garage.. also heated, as they seem to spread their flea friends there on past visits. Cost for uncle is not a problem as he has a gas well on his property

Hey guess what I am going to do in January (maybe) in addition to getting my Concealed Carry permit? Belly Dancing Classes. each year I try to do some thing new & fun.. as I am still able to walk, move . and I love dancing, I thought this year I might investigate Belly Dancing.. okay, stop laughing! friends in other geographic areas who do this say it is a blast, great exercise & does wonders for their aging bodies -— anyone other than me relate to that one as far as a need? LOL

well, I know nothing about what is available or costs. As I am normally a pauper, cheap is very attractive to me.

need to catch up on thread.. know it is a busy & often stressful season for many..

hugs / love to you all dear friends
