India Tells West To Stop Eating Beef
India has urged the West to give up eating beef to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions responsible for global warming.

The environment minister, Jairam Ramesh, said if the world abandoned beef consumption, emissions would be dramatically reduced and global warming would slow down. "The solution to cut emissions is to stop eating beef. It leads to emission of methane which is 23 times more potent than carbon dioxide," he said.
"The best thing for us, India, is we are not a beef-eating nation. The United States, the world's largest emitter along with China, is also the world's greatest beef-eating nation and consumes 25 per cent more than Europe.
His comments follow a call last month by Lord Stern, the author of a British Government study on climate change, for people to give up eating meay to reduce emissions. "Meat is a wasteful use of water and creates a lot of greenhouse gases," said Lord Stern. "It puts enormous pressure on the world's resources. A vegetarian diet is better." Hindus are forbidden to eat beef and India has more vegetarians than any other country in the world. More than 30 per cent of its 1.1 billion people do not eat meat at all.

West to India - “NO!”
Everyone wants to control us.
How come all those millions upon millions of buffalo that were here before cows didn’t destroy the earth?
Maybe they don’t fart?
One bunch says “no beef” the other says “no pork.”
Neither one has a right to tell us what to eat. We don’t tell them not to eat grasshoppers.
India is huge free country and there are a lot of people there arguing at cross-purposes (as here also).
There have been several reports out of Indian scientific institutes questioning the global warming scam.
Let’s ask the former governor of Alaska, from “Going Rogue”:
“I love meat. I eat pork chops, thick bacon burgers, and the seared fatty edges of a medium-well-done steak. But I especially love moose and caribou. I always remind people from outside our state that there’s plenty of room for all Alaska’s animals — right next to the mashed potatoes.”
Just for that, I'm going to be sure to order a steak when I join some friends for dinner at a restaurant this evening.
The argument is that they were grass-fed and not corn-fed, hence less methane production.
Good for them.
I’m glad they’re bossing us around for a change.
Our Western environmentalists have been on their case for population for a long time. I’m glad they’re turning the tables.
Indians worship beef.

“livestock is responsible for 18 per cent of the the Earth’s greenhouse gas emissions.”
Really?
The most abundant greenhouse gas by far is water vapor. Livestock is responsible for 18% of all the water vapor in the atmosphere?
No, they love cows.
They have a huge dairy industry. India depends incredibly on dairy products for fats and protein. Its just sacrilegious to kill them.
And then there are the cultural, religious and magical aspects of cows.
Yummy
