And there will be some pretentious Apple fanboy -- using the idiotic word "meme" as if it actually meant something -- believing that Apple has ever actually come up with an original idea of its own.

Oh wait. They did.

Once.

It's called Objective-C.

Not an Apple fanboy. Read here if you're interested.

meme /mim/

–noun
a cultural item that is transmitted by repetition in a manner analogous to the biological transmission of genes.
Origin: 1976; < Gk mīmeîsthai to imitate, copy; coined by R. Dawkins, Brit. biologist
Please try not to be intentionally ignorant, it's unbecoming.

BTW, I -do- heartily agree with you about Objective-C being pretty damn stupid.

” It’s called Objective-C.

* The.
* Stupidest.
* Language.
* Ever.”

Obj-C has been used to create some of the most successful software ever. While not Earth-shattering, it has some interesting and useful attributes, including full runtime dynamism. Categories are also innovative.

Besides, compared with the abortion (I use that term advisedly) that’s C++, it’s a thing of absolute beauty. ;-)

What software masterpiece(s) have you created, BTW?

It's called Objective-C.

It's a good language for desktop and mobile apps with a graphical user interface. In combination with the Cocoa frameworks, it is the preferred language for Mac and iPhone software development. It can interoperate with C++ code or whatever. Judging from the number of new iPhone apps at the iTunes Store, it is becoming a popular language.

The stupidest language ever was probably plain old "C" language, which, for example, had to scan an entire string to return a character count. Its weakness as a language has been the source of many security problems, especially on Windows.
