Former President Bill Clinton told a room full of Democratic senators Tuesday that passing health care reform — which he failed to do 15 years ago — is not only a moral issue but also “an economic imperative.” Clinton argued that even “the most cold-hearted person” ought to support health care reform simply from an economic standpoint. He reminded Democrats of the political momentum their failure to pass reform in 1993 delivered the House of Representatives to the Republicans the following year…
Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) said Clinton described the ongoing tea party protests against the Democratic agenda as a sign his party was making progress. Whitehouse quoted Clinton arguing: “The reason the tea-baggers are so inflamed is because we are winning.”… He stressed to Democrats that they can always go back and retool initiatives and amend whatever overhaul they pass, calling it, “a big complex organic thing.”

If this Congress wasn’t passing all this radical legislation, there would never have been the Tea Parties or marches on Washington.

That’s an interesting way to look at it. As if the voters wanted socialized medicine, cried when it failed to pass, then ran to the party that is opposed to socialized medicine in retaliation. Wouldn’t it be more likely that Democrats were being punished for trying to pass socialized medicine? Naw, that has some logic to it.

A few months back I was attending the funeral of a family friend. I spent time talking to one of the daughters of the deceased.
She works for a newspaper in Iowa, and had to endure the Iowa caucus. She spent two hours with billyboy, not her choice, and found him to be the most vile person she had ever met.
She didn't give details, but suffice to say it changed her opinion of this creature forever.
