Good Grief!!! Are you ready for some lotsa football?

Sixty-eight teams. Thirty-four bowl games. Eighteen days. One national champion. Thats sick. LOL Would you say this bowl thing is out of control? So what’s the most and least attractive matchups? After the BCS Championship Bowl $17M pay out the Capital One Bowl offers the next best pay day but how viewable is the LSU vs Penn State matchup? Mike Huguenin the College Football Editor at Rivals.com has some thoughts on that.... well, he has 34 thoughts on all that. LOL

Ranking the bowl matchups

Last year on December 11th we actually had enough snow to talk about, photograph and enjoy for a couple of days.

Unless you were, as I was, trapped on I-12 north of Saintsville.

We were just finishing dinner at a restaurant with lots of windows when we saw the first snowflakes. Thats always so magical to me. We'd had rain all day and it wasn't very cold so just a light dusting stayed on the ground but most streets and bridges iced up for a few hours .

Some nearby towns got a good bit more than us and it lingered for several hours. :) It was an event! LOL

By the way, on my recent foray into your area, I was pulled over by a member of local law enforcement who thought it fitting and proper that I contribute to his parish as compensation for my rather hasty journey. Ouch.

Okay, Nully, man up - Sacremento is getting snow tonight aparently and yes I know they are quite north of you but with this very UNpredictable weather, you never know. You could get some any day soon. We have -16 and NO snow!! I like it because the sun is shining and yeah it’s nippy but at least we aren’t plowing through snow. I’m happy. I hope my decorative bushes are. I need to get them mulched. This came on very suddenly and they don’t like that. Uggghh!! CO

Speeding? Never. It must have been a malfunctioning radar or something. Maybe my generous contribution can be used to repair it. I wonder if my “gift” is tax deductible?

Speaking of donations. I was a dinner party last week and the hosts had a fish bowl on a table in the foyer with a note displayed beside it that read something like, We now know Mary Landrieu had a price for voting against her constituents so we figure she must also have one for her resignation as well. Please give generously to the cause.

LOL

You're quite welcome. I did attempt to subvert justice by mentioning that I was a personal friend of an LSU fan (you) but he seemed disinterested. Perhaps he was an impostor, merely pretending to be a Louisiana copper.

I'd donate to that and to similar funds for retiring other so-called "blue-dog" types who talk a good game but always seem to find a compelling excuse to justify their actions. I suppose that in the world's greatest deliberative body, house of ill repute Mary's $300,000,000 or so isn't any big deal.

mmmm, mmmmm, mmmm. They just keep pushing and pushing.

Obama wanted “non-religious Christmas”?

Todd Starnes, blog, 7 December 2009

President Obama and the First Family were planning a “non-religious Christmas,” according to Social Secretary Desiree Rogers. Ms. Rogers reportedly told a gathering of former social secretaries that the Obamas did not intend on putting the Nativity scene on display – a longtime East Room tradition.

The account was reported in the Fashion and Style section of The New York Times. The White House confirmed to the Times that there had been internal discussions about making Christmas more inclusive – but in the end – tradition won out – and the Nativity scene is once again in its traditional East Room spot.

I just received an email response from the White House for comment. Here’s what the First Lady’s office says:

“It has been a part of White House Christmas decorations in the past, it is on display in the East Room for all to enjoy and it will continue to be a part of White House Christmas decorations moving forward.”

-snip-

There is more on this subject

Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, accused the president of trying to “neuter” Christmas.

“Unlike almost all Americans—including atheists—the Obamas do not give their children Christmas gifts. We know this because Barack bragged about this last year to People magazine. So it should come as no big surprise that he and his wife would like to neuter

Christmas in the White House. That’s their natural step—to ban the public display of Christian symbols. Have any doubts? Last April, Georgetown University was ordered to put a drape over the name of Jesus as a condition of the president speaking there.

If the Obamas want to deprive their children of celebrating Christmas, that is their business. It is the business of the public to hold them accountable for the way they celebrate Christmas in the White House. We know one thing for sure: no other administration ever entertained internal discussions on whether to display a nativity scene in the White House.”

However the punk, the gargoyle and their brood chose to celebrate in the upstairs private quarters is their business but they seem to think they can do whatever they please with the public rooms as well. I read they'll spend ten days in Hawaii during Christmas and New Years. They sure are stomping in some high cotton courtesy of taxpayers. How many vacations have they taken this year? s

I’ve come to despise them all and am in favor of term limits for every branch. No more than three 2 year terms for congressmen and only one 6 year term for the senate. Elective office ought not be a permanent career.
