I never bought the argument that he was overcome with grief for Jackie in particular and had to take out Oswald.

A guy named Posner (Gerald?) brought up some pretty convincing forensic evidence. You know how people at a military funeral `flinch’ when the rifles are fired? It’s an involuntary response, like when the doctor taps your knee with his little hammer.
Careful review of Zapruder’s movie showed three distinct, definite flinches, so three shots. Kennedy legend enablers/makers refuse to accept that he could have been the victim of something as mundane as murder by a deranged shooter. Those were darned good shots by the way, a head and neck shot from over 300 feet, some tree branches, and a moving target using an Italian military surplus rifle. The Marines turn out some real sharpshooters.
Btw, the third bullet (7.65 Carcano?) was found on a gurney and was hardly in the `pristine’ condition some of the conspiracists maintained: the base was deformed/flattened.
