Polly and JC, your stories reminded me of my Grandma's 'special' dinnerware.
She and Grandpa had a little farm in Iowa, and grew the best tomatoes and corn you ever tasted.
On special occasions, Grandma would serve dinner in her favorite dishes, Shawnee Corn Pottery.
I have collected it for years, and can still see the plates and bowls filled with her wonderful home cooking!

I wanted to do something red for the Military but couldn’t find it with the Halloween stuff, so I’ll do a Halloween graphic later. Been upstairs trying to decorate this face. Pumpkins can wait!
Meg and I have a plan ‘for when company might drop by’. And we were scheming today! She said her vacuum was sitting in the living room, so I told her ‘I thought I would lay my leaf blower on the patio!’
Then Dave posted a picture of someone riding the lawnmower in the living room! Ouch!
