Is anybody watching the Cowboys game?

Posted on 09/20/2009 7:06:19 PM PDT by GnuHere

After all the hype about this stadium, how stupid is it that punts can (and have) hit the Jumbotron?

NBC has been endlessly self-promoting the stadium all week, since they are carrying the game, to the point of putting Al Roker up on a scaffold hanging from it. I'm guessing they conveniently forgot to cover this little controversy. And BTW, half of every NBC "news" and talk show is taken up with promotions and features on their other lame productions - it's kinda pathetic, really.

At any rate, I guess it will be raised for the U2 concert, at the band's expense, and perhaps stay up there, saving Jerry Jones $2 mil of pocket change. The height of it was signed off on by the NFL.

Since the NFL approved it, they have to pay if they want it moved. It doesn’t have to come out of Jerry’s pocket.

Hey dumb-a... you have to try and kick it straight up to hit the screen. Why would a pro kicker do that?

One of my sons is attending and we have been checking out his facebook photos of the stadium. Those screens are huge.

It’s an awesome spectacle, even on TV.

I was laughing when NBC showed George W Bush sitting with John Madden.

I bet Keith Olberman's head was about to explode when he saw that.

The screen weighs 1 million, 200,000 lbs. If it ever falls, it will make history. Hope the engineers really knew what they were doing.

Is that why the Titans hit it?

Yeah, just now Michaels and Collinsworth, were discoursing on the wonder and perfection of it. They emphasized that it was “not a distraction, but an enhancement”.

During the Cowboys/Ravens preseason game, when the Ravens punter hit the scoreboard, the commentators duly marveled at it, but wondered out loud if it wasn’t a bit much. They pointed out that it was right at eye level from the upper levels of the stands, and you had to look down underneath it to see the game - an observation backed up with camera shots.

I have to conclude that the SNF team is acting under orders.

'Nope. The best thing that could happen to the NFL on NBC is if Chris Collinsworth shoots Olberman in the head and then offs himself.'

You big tease. Gimme another pole dance.......
