Thank you for your good wishes and prayers everyone!
I was reticent to go to the ER as I could still walk on my own and I wasn’t sprouting blood or losing major body parts. However, it turned out to be a very good plan to go there.
They ran some tests, gave me an IV of saline solution as I was not permitted to drink anything, let alone have anything to eat. I received excellent care; the nurse even gave me a warmed blanket with the IV as the solution was so cold.
Eventually, we met with our nurse, physician’s assistant and the doctor. After a thorough examination, the doctor ruled out any of the scary possibilities.
Yay!
We did talk about doing a CT scan of my abdomen. She felt that the risks associated with drinking the contrast and the X-Rays were too high and she referred me to doctors in the same hospital with whom I could schedule follow up procedures.
This is a relief to my folks and it’s a weight off of my shoulders, too.
I was discharged and then we went to the cafeteria to get something to eat. My first food of the day...at 6pm.
Now I am trying to get warm by drinking hot water ( LOL goofy, I know).
Thank you all again! :)
(((Hugs)))
Whew! You clearly did the right thing. Body parts do not have to be falling off. LOL.
I had a trip to a medical facility some years ago with a cancer surgeon standing by. Turned out to be something much less awful.
But the thing I remember most was the warmed blanket they put over me in recovery. It was just so kind. And appreciated.
Good to hear. Will continue sending prayers.
Thanks for the update, SL! We are always thinking of you and praying that you have a full recovery and a time of peace from illness! You deserve to have your health restored!
Good news. Thank you, SL for posting and saving me making a major error and scaring everyone. I have been otherwise occupied today, [not with a date like Dolly was 8)] and am now trying to catch up.
saveliberty was kind enuff to call me earlier and give me a quick summary. [I wish SL wouldn’t keep calling collect...kidding, she didn’t!] When we talked this morning, she didn’t sound so good to me. [I didn’t recognize the famous call-in voice of Tony’s radio show at first.] It caused me to worry a tad more than usual, but when she called this evening, I could tell just by the sound of her voice that things had gone well and she was feeling better.
Thanks to Bahbah for providing the Ping to everyone; and thanks to everyone who responded to her ping.
I will take a cursory run through tonight and hopefully be able to reply tomorrow. Although, to paraphrase Rush Limbaugh, “When saveliberty speaks, there is nothing left to say.”
(((Hugs))) saveliberty.
And goodnight, ALL
