Hi All,
I just received an e-mail from "saveliberty" advising me she has been hospitalized. The cause as she wrote was:
"I have a significant, but benign tumor near my ear that is pushing against a nerve (which hemorrhaged). It sounds bad but I have excellent care."
It certainly does sound serious to me, even though saveliberty said she was being well cared for. She did want me to let her FRiends here know of her condition. When I get further info, I will post it.
In the mean time, if you could add saveliberty to your prayers, I know she would be comforted by that.
saveliberty is often the Threadmistress, and I am but a poster. So, if you all could perhaps place saveliberty's situation in the proper locations, I would be very grateful. [Or Moderators, if you are reading this.]
Get well soon, saveliberty!

What wonderful news, saveliberty! That really must have lifted your spirits!
When my boss’s wife needed surgery for her acoustic neuroma about 17 years ago, they were going to travel to California because surgeons who performed that operation were a rarity then.
They were making arrangements to travel out there—at no small expense plus staying out there for check-ups, when by some strange coincidence, they came into contact with the janitor of a building who mentioned that a relative had successfully undergone the operation which was done by a surgeon here in Philadelphia! This was before Google, I guess! The Lord really does work in mysterious ways!

Hi G-Chick. When I was new to my Wis. Air Guard unit I met one of the senior officers. He was wise and witty and a pretty darn good pilot. Do to the nature of the Guard, I didn't know what a lot of the folks, except for fellow airline pilots, did in their civilian jobs. I eventually learned this smart and charming fellow was a janitor at a local high school. Goes to show you cannot judge a book by its cover or a person by their job.
Over the years I have learned that many who work at so called menial jobs have accumulated more wisdom and common sense than many of the business school executives who oversee them.

Yes, guess I am a poet,
and didn't even know it!
Your good news makes this a good Friday.
So, good night, for now, good friend.

:) Good morning, good friend!
Every day gets better, bit by bit, but we will see how it goes.
It will be a quiet Saturday for us today.

You are so right, Foxy!! Unfortunately too many people believe that a college degree automatically guarantees wisdom. Biggest myth around—I learned that very early in my long life. My friends marveled at the fact that a janitor had knowledge that highly-educated medical personnel did not. But they weren’t surprised. Their parents were all Italian immigrants who had minimal education but were extremely wise.

I made the rum almond coffee cake and we just had some with some coffee.
:) I wish that you both were here to have some.
I said that I was glad that we had something to give friends if they were to stop by. Mom joked that she would eat the cake and serve the crumbs (which were also good).
LOL

Good evening, good friend!
How long can we keep this up before we argue over who is the “goodest”! 8)
Saturday was quiet for us as well except for Davidson finally winning their first football game of the season. At last.

"too many people believe that a college degree automatically guarantees wisdom" I have thought about writing my Alma Mater and asking for a refund of my tuition, since I, too, felt I was the victim of false advertising. No doubt they would say "caveat emptor." If I had learned what that meant, perhaps I could respond back! 8)

I'll have my people call your people, and I guess I had better call Bahbah’s people, and we will work this out.
Will this be cowboy coffee?
Will there be cowgirls?

Hmmm, doing some unattractive drooling here.
I see my plate over there on the right.
What a beautiful cake.
