I am not Catholic, but have a copy of the 1985 Jerusalem Bible, and really like it.
I wanted to get several copies for my children, especially my son, who converted to Catholicism several years ago. I found that it was out of print, and that the newer version of it isn’t the same aa the 1985 version...
Makes me wonder why the need to make changes so soon!
Thanks for your kind encouragement.
God’s best to you and yours.
From a bit of reading on Guy Malone’s site, I found a link to a website he has put up - http://www.alienresistance.org/
I am off to read it now, and see what he has to say about this. As I said earlier today, I had never given it much thought, and you have given me the “nudge” I needed.
Interesting. I have no idea why the changes were needed so quickly. Thank you for your insights, dear jacquej!
Try again. Cut and paste what I wrote that got you to say what you said and a will reply with a reasoned rebuttal.
If not you just wasted my time and bandwidth.
I look forward to your more reasoned follow up post to me.
There is absolute implication that what Christ said is that very thing. A 'kingdom' by definition was and is a well established concept that all peoples of the day understood. A single monarch with a hierarchy of ruling authorities. Satan's kingdom is established and authority on the Earth was granted to him. During Christ's temptation, Satan (Matthew 4:9) offered all of the kingdom's of the Earth and Jesus did not correct him, implying that the Earth belonged to Satan. He is also called the god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4) giving him specific authority.
