He got scratches - in Monaco where that idiot Ocon tried to pass him going into the tunnel at Portier - but the report says he didn’t CAUSE any damage. He still got a point at Monaco.
The $$ amounts are questionable, but there is probably no way to really accurately price the cost of crash damage.

Rwanda president Paul Kagame has confirmed his country is bidding to host a grand prix in the future and said “good progress” has been made in discussions with Formula 1.
Over the past year, F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has made no secret of his desire for the sport to return to the African continent, which has not hosted a grand prix since the 1993 South Africa Grand Prix at Kyalami.
Kagame was speaking ahead of this year’s FIA prize-giving ceremony, which is being hosted in Rwanda’s capital, Kigali, on Friday night.

The new team will not win out of the box. Smiley has massive experience which is very helpful with getting car up to speed. He also brings something no other driver possesses, fans love him. Great guy, funny and will bring great PR to the team. That is a win, win, win for the team!

Remember all professional sports have become a business, the sport is just the draw to put fans in the seats which allow for advertising. More press, more screen time equals more sponsors. Thus the reason for smiley who has a much higher Q Score in the USA than Jenson.
