I think he is actually sandbagging now to give Mercedes bogus data that they cannot use for development of next year’s car. Ever since he was eliminated from the championship, he has been looking to next year.

I give him three or four races at Ferrari before the Italian media and Tifosi throw him to the wolves.

I still can't figure who he thought would benefit from announcing his move at the beginning of the season. That move compromised Merc's chances because it lame-ducked him (when Toto had no excess to spare) and it also compromised the Scuderia because it told Sainz he was racing for his former team.

He's got the thought processes of a petulant child.

They were stuck announcing it after it started to leak out in the Italian press. They couldn’t deny it all year and then announce it.

Hammy and John Elkann were stupid to think they could keep a deal like that secret in the first place. The Italian media is too tuned-in to Ferrari, there are probably informants in every single department, including the legal side where news of the deal leaked.

I don’t think Carlos is a team player (like any of them are). I’ve just heard a lot of complaints about him from his team mates and especially Max.

Not that Carlos is a bad guy, but he doesn’t put up with a lot of nonsense and is pretty hard nosed. If I had a team I’d hire him in a minute if I needed a #1 driver, not a #2.
