I thought they were so precious especially the one lying in someone’s hand. He looks so pitiful. I was trying to hurry and post to Meg before she left for the night! And I made it.

“God is not mocked.”

Many appear to believe they can live any way they want and still enter in to eternal life in heaven ... not hell..

An incorrect idea. Based on their not knowing the Word of God. We are to become like the image of Christ.

Read the Holy Bible. God will meet you there.

When we surrender our life to God and invite Jesus into our lives we become forgiven of our sins, and have transformed minds/lives. MU

Thank you, for the beautiful devotions.

“Knowledge and eloquence are often overrated in the process of communicating the good news of Jesus Christ. Never underestimate the power of what God has done for you, and don’t be afraid to tell your story to others.”

GOOD MILITARY MONDAY TO AMY’S PLACE!

The Soldier’s Code

1) I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

2) I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender my men while they still have the means to resist.

3) If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

4) If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me, and will back them up in every way.

5) When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am bound to give only name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies, or harmful to their cause.

6) I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower, August, 1955.

Happy Monday, Billie.
I didn't use trinypic.com. :)

Thank you for today's wonderful Opening Graphic.
That poem will always be a favorite.

Hope you had a great weekend and are looking forward to a beautiful week.

Jim is leaving for DC on Friday;
I've been wondering if I should send anything with him. LOL
I haven't asked him yet. He did offer to take my laptop.
I passed; I doubt that I will need it.
He will not get there until the evening of the 11th.
I can use one in the lobby to check emails.

Have a Magnificent Monday!

The Art of Poetry

  To gaze at a river made of time and water
And remember Time is another river.
To know we stray like a river
And our faces vanish like water.

To feel that waking is another dream
That dreams of not dreaming and that the death
We fear in our bones is the death
That every night we call a dream.

To see in every day and year a symbol
Of all the days of man and his years,
And convert the outrage of the years
Into a music, a sound, and a symbol.

To see in death a dream, in the sunset
A golden sadness--such is poetry,
Humble and immortal, poetry,
Returning, like dawn and the sunset.

Sometimes at evening there's a face
That sees us from the depths of a mirror.
Art must be that sort of mirror,
Disclosing to each of us his face.

They say Ulysses, wearied of wonders,
Wept with love on seeing Ithaca,
Humble and green. Art is that Ithaca,
A green eternity, not wonders.

Art is endless like a river flowing,
Passing, yet remaining, a mirror to the same
Inconstant Heraclites, who is the same
And yet another, like the river flowing.

Jorge Luis Borges

Aedh Tells of a Valley Full of Lovers

I dreamed that I stood in a valley, and amid sighs,
For happy lovers passed two by two where I stood;
And I dreamed my lost love came stealthily out of the wood
With her cloud-pale eyelids falling on dream-dimmed eyes:
I cried in my dream ‘O women bid the young men lay
‘Their heads on your knees, and drown their eyes with your hair,
‘Or remembering hers they will find no other face fair
‘Till all the valleys of the world have been withered away.’

William Butler Yeats

Down by the Salley Gardens

DOWN by the salley gardens my love and I did meet;
She passed the salley gardens with little snow-white feet.
She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the tree;
But I, being young and foolish, with her would not agree.
In a field by the river my love and I did stand,
And on my leaning shoulder she laid her snow-white hand.
She bid me take life easy, as the grass grows on the weirs;
But I was young and foolish, and now am full of tears.

He Bids His Beloved Be At Peace

I HEAR the Shadowy Horses, their long manes a-shake,
Their hoofs heavy with tumult, their eyes glimmering white;
The North unfolds above them clinging, creeping night,
The East her hidden joy before the morning break,
The West weeps in pale dew and sighs passing away,
The South is pouring down roses of crimson fire:
O vanity of Sleep, Hope, Dream, endless Desire,
The Horses of Disaster plunge in the heavy clay:
Beloved, let your eyes half close, and your heart beat
Over my heart, and your hair fall over my breast,
Drowning love's lonely hour in deep twilight of rest,
And hiding their tossing manes and their tumultuous feet.

William Butler Yeats

The Ragged Wood
by William Butler Yeats

O, hurry, where by water, among the trees,
The delicate-stepping stag and his lady sigh,
When they have looked upon their images
Would none had ever loved but you and I!

Or have you heard that sliding silver-shoed
Pale silver-proud queen-woman of the sky,
When the sun looked out of his golden hood?
O, that none ever loved but you and I!

O hurry to the ragged wood, for there
I will drive all those lovers out and cry
O, my share of the world, O, yellow hair!
No one has ever loved but you and I.
