Tell Your Story
Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you. —Mark 5:19

An organizational consultant in New York says that his graduate students typically recall only 5 percent of the main ideas in a presentation of graphs and charts, while they generally remember half of the stories told in the same presentation. There is a growing consensus among communication experts about the power of the personal touch in relating an experience. While facts and figures often put listeners to sleep, an illustration from real life can motivate them to action. Author Annette Simmons says, “The missing ingredient in most failed communication is humanity.”

Mark 5:1-20 gives the dramatic account of Jesus setting a violent, self-destructive man free from the powerful demons that possessed him. When the restored man begged to stay with Jesus as He traveled, the Lord told him, “?‘Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.’ And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled” (vv.19-20).

Knowledge and eloquence are often overrated in the process of communicating the good news of Jesus Christ. Never underestimate the power of what God has done for you, and don’t be afraid to tell your story to others.

Take control of my words today,
May they tell of Your great love;
And may the story of Your grace
Turn some heart to You above. —Sees

I figured since we were making a goal line stand - forget about calling the hogs - it's time to called the dogs. We want the liberals singing: Who Let the Dogs Out?

LOL! It wasn’t work, JC. It was fun! Like the cats that you thought were yawning (2688) - they were singing to JAYCEE into a microphone!

I hope you are going to have a wonderful Monday.

Mornin’ y’all!

Thanks for the pings, as always!

I’ve been to the Joyce Kilmer National Forest in eastern NC. If any of you are ever close, it is well worth the time. The trees are HUGE. Not redwood huge, but still... Google it and enjoy! The trees are an original stand of old growth forest and were scheduled to go under the ax. Machines and men were in place when congress voted to make it a national forest.

Did you know... LOL Joyce was a veteran, had a sister named Michael that was really a sister! :) There goes my store of brain lint again! I know more useless trivia than anyone. Now, if I could just remember where I put my...

Have a great day y’all!

Good morning, All! Hey, did you know there is a trinypic.com?! I was going to upload a pic and always just type tinypic.com each time - only this time an odd page came up and I thought tinypic had changed until I saw I'd misspelled it!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and a wonderful day today to start a new week.

Thank you, Dear Amy, and the New Place is Shaping Up Nicely. My Husband and I have Picked Up a Lot of Fallen Wood and have Saved it for Kindling for the Winter, and I have Mowed a Huge Amount of Land over the Last Few Weeks. Today I Spent Hours Destroying Fire Ant Hills, Plus did More Mowing and Wood Retrieval. It's Going to be a Challenge to Keep Both Places Looking Nice; I'm Glad I Love Yard Work, Lol! : )

We should compare before and after pictures sometime. LOL! When we bought the 22 acres with barn just behind our property a few years ago, it was pretty awful - putting it mildly. The weeds were taller than our heads, and so thick it was scary - thinking what might be hidden by them.

I can appreciate the work you're doing, Kitty! It does take time and a lot of hard work. We even had a few old hot water heaters and old bathtubs to haul to the landfill. :) But the barn, once cleaned out and our builder took a look at what we wanted to do with it, became the neatest little guest house. :)

Anyway, kudos to you for all the hours and work you're putting into it! Know you will enjoy the fruits of your labor before it's over.
