Thanks for the prayers! I just spoke with Auntie and she is determined to get through her medical problems, she knows it may take months to get better, but she is going to do it one day at a time.

Good night all!

Thanks, just spoke with her tonight, after giving her a few nights to try to sleep. No such luck. She is determined to get better, what else can she do. I will pray her a prayer of peaceful sleep tonight...TCP

Thanks for the offer of prayers. I think she’d be less than pleased with me if I gave her full name, but Mickey in Colorado Springs would be OK. She has been a life long Christian and believes in the power of prayer. What would help her most now is consistant good nights of sleep. Her lack of sleep is preventing healing of the nerve inflammation the doctors have found. I’m saying an extra prayer tonight for her to sleep soundly. God Bless, TCP

TCP, I know how horriblie it is, not being able to sleep.

I have a good friend who’s mother had the same problem - she was given Melatonin, and has slept like a baby, since.

Another friend took L-Tryptophan, and it worked like a charm for her.

There are literally thousands of pages on both, under a ‘google search’. Maybe one of these two would work - maybe not.

In the meantime - Mickey (in Colorado Springs) has my prayers. And, by the way - she is blessed to have you as her niece. ((((HUGS))))

LOL.   ...Well then, I guess you either need a 'helper' to hold it for you, or one like this on a boom...

Learning Life’s Lessons

Within us all lays the spirit of the Hermit
A need to seek some silent place to sit
To open the soul to that inner seeking now
That begins the slow healing, our own Tao

Be it in some rocky, lonely high silent place
Or amid the turbulent flow of the rat race
We must find the quiet center of our own soul
So we know peace enough to make us whole

Trials and tribulations test our mettle each day
And in that we find our limits, the price we pay
Those who withstand the long struggle may win
That small bright flame of strength found within

Those that give up, give away all they have had
Surrendering to a moment, caught up in the bad
Faith in self and in some greater aid one’s fight
To see the least glimmer of a greater light

Just Like David
I acknowledge my transgressions. —Psalm 51:3

The elderly woman didn’t like the way her pastor prayed each Sunday morning, so she told him. It bothered her that before he preached he would confess to God that he had sinned the week before. “Pastor,” she said, “I don’t like to think my pastor sins.”

We’d like to believe that our spiritual leaders don’t sin, but reality tells us that no Christian is exempt from the burdens of the sinful nature. Paul told the believers at Colosse to “put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature” (Col. 3:5 niv). The problem is that sometimes we don’t do that. We yield to temptation, and we’re left with a mess. But we are not left helpless. We have a pattern to follow for restoration.

That pattern comes from the heart and pen of King David, whose sin demonstrated the sad consequences of succumbing to temptation. Look closely at Psalm 51 as David owned up to his sin. First, he flung himself at God’s feet, pleading for mercy, acknowledging his sin, and trusting in God’s judgment (vv.1-6). Next, he sought cleansing from the One who forgives and wipes the slate clean (vv.7-9). Finally, David asked for restoration with the Holy Spirit’s help (vv.10-12).

Is sin stealing your joy and blocking your fellowship with the Lord? Like David, turn it over to Him.

Our sinful ways can sap our joy
And isolate us from the Lord;
Confession and repentance, though,
Provide the way to be restored. —Sper

Repentance clears the way for us to walk with God.

Your Post is Wonderful, Meg!

~Scene from the King's Ranch~

In your Day of Trouble, May the Lord be with you.
May the God of Jacob Keep you from All Harm.
May He Send you Aid from His Sanctuary in Zion.
May He Remember with Pleasure the Gifts you have Given Him,
Your Sacrifices and Burnt Offerings.
May He Grant you your Heart's Desires,
And Fulfill All your Plans.

(Ps.20:1-4)

A Blessed Lord's Day to Amy's Place
