This is a feel good story.
This is what a Wedding should be like.
Have you seen this yet?
It's big on YouTube right now.
Members of a wedding party dance up a storm at this wedding.
You've got to see it to believe it.

I never said it was! I was answering you question. Why do you think it is sinful?

Me too. I expected to be offended, and I was. Initially. About 30 seconds in I was desperately trying to find a way to remain offended. Then despite my best attempt to remain horrified I felt a smile come on, some genuine good-natured laughter well up in me, and my eyes got just a bit blurry. Then I was clapping and dancing along with them.
Yes, they broke every rule, I guess. I should feel mortified, but I don't. I am much cheered, and my heart is lightened. It's a good way to enter the weekend.

To get back to your question, some dancing is indeed sinful, by far.
Do you want to know what I think about this so-called dance?

Amusing, but you couldn’t pay me to be a groomsman in that tacky, circus-like ceremony. Too bad the vid cut off when it did — I was curious to see if the vows were equally ....nontraditional.

what is wrong with dancing when you're happy? Today I had lunch with a friend. She's very busy & I know it was a hassle for her. But it made me very happy. So I said "Thank You, this was so thoughtful of you. I know you've got a lot to do."
I didn't dance in the restaurant. To be honest, it never occurred to me to dance. If it had occurred to me, I would have thought this is not the time or place to dance.
But that's just me

During weddings?
People are more than free to do what they want where they want (as long as those who are in charge say it is OK). If I thought that singing and dancing during church services were appropriate, I'd probably go to them. I've been to a couple of such services. I didn't like them because the focus was on the person doing the dancing and wailing, not on God.

Wow, we dance at our church. Maybe we are a Satanic Cult and never knew it.

Well, it didn’t look like they partied THROUGH the ceremony, just to get to the alter.

I was shocked at first. When that wore off, about 15 seconds later, I was a bit.... ehhh, i don’t know about this. But then I looked at the spirit behind it all.
I tend to believe that God looks at what our intentions are as well as our actions. And I cannot for the life of me imagine that God would be offended by ppl acting on the outside the way they were feeling on the inside. I can think of a lot of ways to be offensive to God or in church but .. dunno, joyous dancing is not one of them, imho.
:D I cannot imagine God being upset that ppl danced and showed joy in church.
Happy Weekend!!!

It’s shocking because it’s unexpected, but it is joyful and an obvious celebration of marriage.
I have always felt it to be shameful that so many people are so quick to declare joyful things shameful, especially while wrapping themselves in religion. What arrogance to dare strike at any form of worship, simply because it doesn’t fit into one’s dogma.
Fools rush in where angels fear to tread, and there is no more dangerous place to stand than between a joyous heart and God.

Just more evidence of the narcissistic and gradual erosion of society.
Could not agree more. The celebrations are meant for the reception, not the Church. Does anyone know the meaning of the word respect?
What I think of these people:

I have been to Black Churches where there is alot more dancing and hopping it up going on
They are doing it to prayer to God.
This was done for a Youtube video.
HUGE difference!

I guess I dont see irreverent joy in this video
If it was extemporaneous, I might agree.
However, this was clearly choreographed. And for a reason IMO. For Youtube.
There is a difference between dancing for pur joy and dancing because it makes a good video.

The celebrations are meant for the reception, not the Church Exactly. Party to your heart's content at the wedding party -- the appropriate place. The ceremony should be ceremonial, not a lame attempt at performance art designed for YouTube.
