Well, the hail storm yesterday did not miss me like the last one did. It was only pea sized hail, but a half inch accumulated in a very short time. It was pretty cold too, 41F, not much like July. It really looked like winter with the ground all white. Lots of shredded veggie leaves on the ground and some still on the plants looked like swiss cheese. I think most will come back and the tomato and squash blossoms I sprayed with blossom set still are hanging on!

The mountains just east of us had dry lightning strikes Tues and several fires were started to begin the fire season for the high country. There may be a wetter version coming for them Monday. My dome greenhouse was plastic covered for the first several years and the hail would just shred it in one 15 minute storm...

I am now accepting applications from all gardeners to dispose of the Skunk I trapped last night. The winner will be judged on originality and penmanship. Must have own transportation...

YOU DIDN'T READ MY POST! Been there and done that but the contest is to find a novel way dispatch them and if you are going to drown them in the trap make damm sure the vessel is deep enough to cover the trap. Send a Stamped, Self addressed envelope for details...

Must have own transportation...

BG's still got my Ford minivan, since her bear (the lush) threw up in it. I imagine it would be perfect transportation. If the skunk is already trapped, just throw a rope through the driver's window and out the passenger side sliding door and drag the skunk into the van. Have grammie drive it down to Arcada, and leave it in a park. Some loaded leftist type is sure to steal it. Problem solved.

ExCUSE me please. I’m not dragging a dead skunk to Arcada!

Or would that be Arcadia?

Heck. Now I’m lost....

I wish to apologize to all the real gardeners here as I had no idea my plea for help would turn into a reunion of the clan...
